The majority or as many as 21 Provincial Kadin Executive Boards firmly expressed their rejection of the efforts of the Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) of Kadin Indonesia with the main agenda of replacing Chairman Arsjad Rasjid. The rejection was conveyed by 21 Provincial Kadin Executive Boards spread throughout Indonesia, including Bengkulu, DI Yogyakarta, DKI Jakarta, Gorontalo, Jambi, West Java, Central Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, NTT, Papua, West Papua, Riau, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and Southwest Papua. The rejection was based on the consideration that the Munaslub was held without following the provisions in the Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD/ART) of Kadin Indonesia.
The Executive Board of Gorontalo Chamber of Commerce stated that they rejected the Munaslub in accordance with the decision of the Plenary Meeting. ‘The Gorontalo Kadin Executive Board agreed to continue to support Arsjad Rasjid's leadership as Chairman of Kadin Indonesia until the 2026 service period. In addition, based on Kadin Indonesia's bylaws, Kadin does not recognise Munaslub or interim changes as long as the elected chairman does not violate or declare his resignation,’ said Chairman of Kadin Gorontalo Muhalim Djafar Litty.
In accordance with Kadin Indonesia's bylaws, the Munaslub can only be held if there is a violation of the principles contained therein, and that too after two written warnings have not been heeded. In addition, requests for Munaslub must be submitted by at least half of the number of Provincial Kadin and half of the number of Extraordinary Members. So, 21 Regional Kadin or the majority have rejected the Munaslub.
Likewise, the Chairman of the Southeast Sulawesi Kadin, Anton Timbang, emphasised the rejection of the Munaslub movement which was not legal and not in accordance with the AD / ART of Kadin Indonesia, and fully supported the leadership steps of the Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid. ‘The Executive Board of Southeast Sulawesi Kadin rejects all forms of unauthorised movements. We consider all actions that are not in line with organisational rules, damaging the spirit of Kadin as an organisation for the business world,’ said Anton.
The rejection of the Munaslub was also expressed by Kadin Papua. Chairman of Kadin Papua Ronald Antonio said that all actions that are not in line with organisational rules will only cause instability and damage the Kadin's spirit as a solid and trusted forum for entrepreneurs. ‘The Executive Board of Kadin Papua firmly rejects all forms of movements that are illegitimate and not in accordance with organisational rules, including efforts to hold a Munaslub that is not in accordance with the provisions of Kadin's AD / ART,’ said Ronald.
Umar Lessy, Chairman of the North Maluku Kadin, also expressed his rejection of the Munaslub plan and affirmed the support of the North Maluku Kadin for Arsjad Rasjid's leadership, including his decision to be temporarily absent and the appointment of an Acting Daily Chairman some time ago. ‘Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Arsjad Rasjid has received approval to be temporarily absent approved by all Regional Kadin Chairmen and Extraordinary Associations. This is in accordance with and does not violate the provisions of Article 5 of Law No. 1 of 1987 concerning Kadin jo Article 14 of the Kadin AD. We believe that this decision was taken to maintain the neutrality and integrity of the Kadin organisation,’ Umar said.
Chairman of Kadin Bengkulu Ahmad Irfansyah said, according to the bylaws of Kadin Indonesia, the Munaslub can only be held if there is a violation of the bylaws. All Kadin members, both Regional Kadin and Extraordinary Members have a legal obligation to carry out the mandate of the law and uphold the bylaws in organisational activities. ‘We, the Bengkulu Executive Board, firmly state that we will always comply with all the provisions and rules contained in the Articles of Association and Bylaws of Kadin,’ said Ahmad.
Meanwhile, Chairman of West Kalimantan Kadin Arya Rizqi Darsono assessed that the attempt to hold a Munaslub is not only against the bylaws of Kadin Indonesia, but also threatens the integrity of Kadin as a business organisation established based on the law. He hopes that all Kadin members will unite and remain solid in carrying out organisational activities by adhering to the principles and provisions in the bylaws.
‘Kadin West Kalimantan is committed to continuing to work together with all elements of Kadin at the central and regional levels in order to maintain organisational stability and contribute positively to the progress of the national economy,’ said Arya.
For information, Kadin Indonesia is an organisation that functions as a forum for entrepreneurs and a strategic partner of the government established under Law Number 1 of 1987 (Kadin Law) and confirmed in Presidential Decree No. 18 of 2022 concerning the AD / ART of Kadin Indonesia, where M Arsjad Rasjid PM is the elected Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for the 2021-2026 service period. Arsjad Rasjid was elected by acclamation as Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for the 2021-2026 service period based on a joint decision at the 8th National Conference of Kadin Indonesia dated 30 June 2021, in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.
