The Ministry of Health notes that the limited number of health facilities and specialists contributes to the long waiting time of patients for health services, from early diagnosis to surgery. Patients can queue up to 36 months for open-heart surgery. In fact, Indonesia has 9.4 million cases of heart disease each year.<\/p>\n<p>This unending public health challenge threatens people's lives. Therefore, this year, the House of Representatives has initiated and included the Health Bill in the national legislative programme (Prolegnas) Priority Bill 2023. The Health Bill is expected to drive public health reform in Indonesia and remove barriers to access to quality healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) intends to facilitate a constructive dialogue between industry players and policymakers to identify the challenges and opportunities presented by the Health Bill.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the hearing with the House of Representatives, Kadin has conducted an industry forum event on the Indonesian Health Bill with the theme \"Enhancing the Role of Industry to Bring Better Healthcare for All\" on 16 March 2023 at Jimbaran Ground Floor, Grand Melia Hotel Kuningan-Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Kadin has endeavoured to pave the way for the private sector to play a greater role in supporting the Indonesian government, particularly in delivering better healthcare for all.
