The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) encourages women to become entrepreneurs by working on small and medium scale businesses. The involvement of women is expected to reduce the minimum ratio of entrepreneurs in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arsjad Rasjid said, Kadin Indonesia is making MSMEs the main focus in 2023. This is because MSMEs have become a pillar of the Indonesian economy during the Covid-19 pandemic. Seeing the magnitude of this role, good and focused empowerment will ensure the strength of the Indonesian economy in the future.<\/p>\n
\"Currently there are 37 million MSMEs managed by women and with more and more programs such as the Catering Academy that hoped can be further improve the welfare of MSME actors, as well as strengthen the regional and national economy,\" said Arsjad at the Catering Academy event at Kadin Bandung City, Friday (14\/4\/2023).<\/p>\n
Kadin, he said, is committed to encouraging the number of entrepreneurs to continue to increase. Currently, the ratio of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is only around 1.6 percent. Ideally, the ratio of entrepreneurs reaches 4 percent of the total population.<\/p>\n
According to him, the Catering Academy is a program that focuses on the category of empowering women through training to develop skills in gastronomy and culinary business. The Catering Academy program members are women who have an interest in the culinary field and will undergo training filled by experienced culinary practitioners so that they can then build MSMEs in the catering services sector.<\/p>\n

The Catering Academy program initiated by Kadin Kota Bandung has the potential to help elevate MSMEs. women who initially started businesses on a small scale until they continued to grow.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In addition, Arsjad also explained his appreciation for this program because it actively promotes women's empowerment.<\/p>\n
\"We must support this program to continue to grow, seeing that West Java is ranked first as the province with the number 1 food and beverage MSE nationally with the city of Bandung as one of its biggest contributors,\" said Arsjad.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Bandung City Kadin, Iwa Gartiwa, is proud to see the large number of female MSMEs participating in the Catering Academy program. \"Through the Catering Academy program, female MSME entrepreneurs in the city of Bandung can learn and improve the quality of their catering business. Not only that, this program is also a platform for business actors to change in the digital era,\" said Iwa.<\/p>\n
Iwa also added, since 2020, the number of Catering Academy participants has continued to increase every year until now it has reached more than 2,700 participants. This program does not only focus on the basics of making products, but will also teach participants how to apply marketing strategies so they can learn how to market products more broadly.<\/p>\n
The choice of training in the culinary field is influenced by culture and is one of the economic sectors in the city of Bandung that is growing rapidly. In addition, with the diversity of traditional culinary types in the city of Bandung, it is hoped that it can help strengthen food security in Bandung.<\/p>\n
