Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Arsjad Rasjid, said the surge in Mudik (homecoming) this year has brought blessings to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the regions. Arsjad said the 2023 homecoming will be one of the busiest. Quoting the Ministry of Transportation, he said there were 123.8 million people moving during homecoming this year.<\/p>\n
\"I see it as a blessing for MSME entrepreneurs for regional souvenirs,\" said Arsjad (20\/4\/2023).<\/p>\n
He continued, homecoming also has the potential to bring economic turnover in the region. \"With this year's homecoming moment, there will be a redistribution of money from cities to the travelers destinations area,\" said the Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC).<\/p>\n
Quoting the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Arsjad said the increase in economic turnover in homecoming destinations, especially in the tourism and creative economy sectors. The increase is expected to double from last year's Eid, which reached Rp 150 trillion.<\/p>\n
He also encourages travelers to spend their money in the retail sector, and buy products typical of MSMEs in the area where they go home.<\/p>\n
\"We use this momentum so that MSMEs can be more competitive and move up the class,\" he said.<\/p>\n
As Chair of the ASEAN-BAC, Arsjad also said that now there are no more obstacles for the community and MSME players to make transactions in the digital era.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are already various ways to make transactions, one of which is through a QR code. With just one scan of the barcode, transactions will take place more easily for travelers,\" said Arsjad.<\/p>\n
As is known, transactions via the QR code have been used in various regions in Indonesia. Through the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS), there are 28.75 million users spread across all regions in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
In addition, the total number of merchants who have used QRIS is 22.7 million.<\/p>\n
