The ASEAN Summit 2023 in Labuan Bajo is about to take place soon and all preparations are being made to welcome all the state guests. Arsjad Rasjid, Chair of ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) and Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) along with all council members from ASEAN countries, are also present to carry out the ASEAN Leaders\u2019 Interface with ASEAN-BAC as one of the events of the 42nd ASEAN Summit.<\/p>\n
Realizing ASEAN as the Epicenter of Growth through the ASEAN Business Sector<\/strong><\/p>\n \"We, from the ASEAN-BAC that accommodates ASEAN business and private sectors, are ready to meet with the ASEAN leaders which will take place on May 10, 2023. We have prepared various ways to realize ASEAN as the center of world economic growth,\" said Arsjad.<\/p>\n The meeting between ASEAN-BAC and ASEAN leaders is a bold step and vision. ASEAN-BAC can become a partner for the government to provide strategic advice and feedback from the business and private sector to achieve ASEAN economic growth, promote stronger regional economic integration through the business and private sector, as well as encourage the implementation of ASEAN priority issues and legacy projects.<\/p>\n Eight Legacy Projects Have Been Prepared to Support ASEAN Economic Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n The ASEAN-BAC Chairmanship has always had a good track record in the implementation of legacy projects. At the meeting with ASEAN leaders, ASEAN-BAC will once again encourage the eight legacy projects, namely the ASEAN QR Code, Marketplace Lending Platform, Wiki Entrepreneur, ASEAN Net Zero Hub, Carbon Center of Excellence, ASEAN One Shot Campaign, Inclusive Closed-Loop for Agricultural Product, and ASEAN Business Entity.<\/p>\n \"We will convey these various legacy projects at the meeting with the ASEAN leaders, because these eight legacies are capable of becoming drivers for ASEAN to achieve its vision of becoming the center of economic growth,\" said Arsjad.<\/p>\n Together with ASEAN-BAC, ASEAN Grows with Concrete Solutions<\/strong><\/p>\n The representation meeting of ASEAN-BAC with ASEAN leaders will involve 20 business delegations as leaders in the business or private sector or leaders of chambers of commerce in each country. Members of the ASEAN-BAC are appointed by their respective governments, consisting of high-level CEO of each member country's companies and represented by three members per member country, with one member representing the interests of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).<\/p>\n \"All representatives of ASEAN-BAC, including business and private sectors from Myanmar, are guaranteed to be present and we also invite representatives from Timor Leste to participate in the ASEAN-BAC meeting with ASEAN leaders,\" said Bernardino Vega, Alternate Chair of ASEAN-BAC.<\/p>\n In the meeting with ASEAN leaders, ASEAN-BAC will also discuss several things such as the ASEAN Society 2025 Blueprint and the ASEAN Vision 2045. In addition, there will also be a discussion on the 16 Priority Economic Deliverables (PED) which will be signed at the ASEAN Summit 2023.<\/p>\n ASEAN-BAC wants concrete steps for ASEAN to become the center of world growth. Collaboration between the business and private sectors with the government can make ASEAN a complete epicenter of growth. \"No one left behind, whoever they are.
