Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Arsjad Rasjid, emphasized that the development of the agricultural sector is still one of the important keys to improving the Indonesian economy. Currently the agricultural sector contributes 12.4% to national and regional GDP.<\/p>\n
As a form of Kadin Indonesia's attention and commitment to regional economic development, the Kadin Impact Award (KIA) program was held, apart from being intended to appreciate programs with an economic impact organized by regional Kadin, also aims to encourage improvement in the quality and reach of the impact of the Kadin regional programs.<\/p>\n
Among the sectors underlined in the Kadin Impact Award program is the agricultural sector. This sector is the focus of the Cakra Desa program which is the flagship program of Kadin in West Java Province, especially Sumedang City.<\/p>\n
Cakra Desa is a program that aims to empower farmers in West Java and increase agricultural land productivity by providing assistance, agricultural production facilities, market access and marketing logistics, to funding for local farmers. Kadin West Java carrying out this program collaborates with various parties involved in the agricultural ecosystem from Village-Owned Enterprises, CROWDE, Poktan and Gapoktan which are legal entities, to agricultural land owners.<\/p>\n
\"In fact, agriculture is still the sector that absorbs the most jobs in Indonesia. BPS data says the number reached 40.69 million people or 29.96% of the total population of Indonesia. However, our brothers and sisters, small farmers are still facing challenges in increasing productivity and income. Because of that, I really appreciate the Cakra Desa program from the Kadin West Java in collaboration with Crowde and Bumdes for farmers in West Java,\" said Arsjad.<\/p>\n
Kadin Indonesia Vice Chairman for the Coordinating Organization, Legal and Communication Affairs, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, assessed that Kadin West Java Province and Kadin Sumedang had succeeded in collaborating together and bridging multi-stakeholders in the development of this program, CROWDE, BUMDes, to other related parties.<\/p>\n
\"This program is based on the values \u200b\u200bof Kadin Indonesia, which are inclusive, collaborative and progressive. By collaborating with many parties from Village-Owned Enterprises, CROWDE, Poktan and Gapoktan which are legal entities, to agricultural land owners. I think the West Java Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry has succeeded in empowering farmers in West Java,\" said Yukki.<\/p>\n
Chairman of Kadin West Java, Cucu Sutara explained, in addition to empowering Indonesian farmers, the Cakra Desa program also manages village idle land so that it can return to productivity by utilizing CROWDE's access to finance and technology.<\/p>\n
\"In empowering farmers, here our role is to mediate, facilitate, and advocate for farmers by providing training and assisting with the necessary permits. Meanwhile, CROWDE facilitates farmers with access to finance and assistance in agricultural cultivation. As well as BUMDes play a role in opening market access to distribute agricultural products,\" said Cucu.<\/p>\n
Cucu also said that the land used in this program was idle land belonging to the village, which was about 10 hectares in area. This program started with a pilot project in Karangnunggal Village, Kec. Karangnunggal Regency, Tasikmalaya with a land area of \u200b\u200b3 hectares which has been successfully harvested.<\/p>\n
\"Apart from conducting a pilot project, we have also started to develop chili plants in 19 regencies in West Java. We have also conducted land surveys in 40 villages, 11 of which have been in the process of doing collaboration,\" said Cucu.<\/p>\n
President Director of CROWDE, Yohanes Sugihtononugroho added that his party had also built a Rumah ATAP\/ROOF house (Aspirations of Responding Farmers) as a place to live for officers who monitored the details of village chakra program activities. The inauguration of Rumah ATAP is also part of a series of events in the KIA roadshow to Sumedang.<\/p>\n
\"Not only as a place to live, the Rumah ATAP is also used as a means for farmers or BUMDes to exchange stories if there are problems with cultivation on agricultural land and provide solutions to the obstacles they experience,\" concluded Yohanes.<\/p>\n
