Vice Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Industry, Bobby Gafur Umar hopes that the implementation of the electric car incentive program from the government can be simplified by eliminating restitution, in order to achieve the government target.<\/p>\n
Bobby emphasized that Kadin supports the incentive or subsidy program run by the government in order to accelerate the electrification of motorized vehicles.<\/p>\n
\"But indeed the implementation (implementation of the incentive program), apparently needs some adjustments,\" said Bobby to the media at Kadin Indonesia Tower, in Jakarta, Wednesday (21\/6\/2023).<\/p>\n
According to Bobby, one of the things that needs adjustment is the tax refund process, because it is considered to be one of the obstacles in the smooth running of the program.<\/p>\n
\"The manufacturers still charge dealers 11 percent, yes, VAT. Meanwhile, for electric vehicle incentives, it's only 1 percent. So, the 10 percent later from the dealers can be refunded to the manufacturers and then to the government,\" said Bobby.<\/p>\n
For information, the government has determined the amount of incentives for electric cars that have a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) value criterion of 40 percent with a value added tax (VAT) deduction of 10 percent.<\/p>\n
Through this incentive program, the VAT charged to buyers is only 1 percent. In the process, the dealer bears VAT of 10 percent which will later receive restitution from the government.<\/p>\n
According to Bobby, the refund process has created a bottleneck in tax disbursement. Because of that, Bobby suggested that the government simplify the procedure for distributing electric car incentives.<\/p>\n
\"But this, right, creates a bottleneck. Why not directly 1 percent from that end so there is no need for restitution and so on. That simplifies the procedure,\" he said.<\/p>\n
For the electric motorbike subsidy program, Bobby assesses that the verification process for beneficiaries is also not easy. Given this, according to him, further socialization is needed and updating the system more easily for potential customers and dealers.<\/p>\n
Given the effectiveness of the implementation of the incentive program which is still minimal, Kadin and a number of associations related to the electric vehicle ecosystem held discussions on Wednesday (23\/6\/2023). Through this meeting, it is hoped that suggestions and input from the association can become material for further discussion with the government.<\/p>\n
The discussion was also attended by Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko who is also Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industries (Periklindo).<\/p>\n
\"We provide input on what is still happening in the field, the difficulties. So that this (incentive program) runs smoothly and sales of electric cars increase. The goal is to provide incentives to increase sales of motorcycles or four-wheeled vehicles,\" said the chairman. I Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) Jongkie Sugiarto.<\/p>\n
