Implementation of Incentives for 2-Wheeled Electric Vehicles

In order to encourage the utilisation of 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled electric vehicle incentives provided by the government, the Electric Mobility Working Team of Kadin Indonesia on 21 June 2023 held a discussion on the implementation of incentives on 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled electric vehicles which was attended by representatives from 6 associations in the electric mobility ecosystem in Indonesia, including PERIKLINDO, AISMOLI, AISI, AEML, GIAMM and GAIKINDO.

From the discussion, Kadin managed to gather inputs from electric vehicle associations regarding solutions to the obstacles that cause the number of electric motorbikes sold to be still low. Kadin Recommendations :
- It is expected that the process of claiming incentive payments for two-wheelers can be reviewed and simplified in order to provide certainty and convenience to consumers and not disrupt dealer cash flow.
- It is hoped that the criteria for providing incentives for R2 can be simplified among consumers in order to better absorb the interest of the public for two-wheeled EVs. EVs on two wheels.

Then the Kadin team discussed further, finding solutions to the obstacles currently faced in the implementation of incentives on 2-wheeled electric vehicles on 11 August 2023 at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment.
