Heli Expo Asia (Hexia) 2024 is held to showcase the progress and innovation of the dynamic helicopter industry in Asia. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chairman of Kadin for Transportation Denon Prawiraatmadja who is also the Chairman of the Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) in his remarks at the Opening of HEXIA at Cengkareng Heliport, Tangerang, Banten (26/6/2024).

According to him, participation in Hexia is an important role for the aviation sector in progress and innovation in the region, in line with this year's theme ‘Moving Forward, Shaping Tomorrow,’ which perfectly encapsulates the collective ambition to drive the helicopter industry forward into the future.

"HEXIA 2024 is more than just an exhibition. It is a platform where we can exchange ideas, foster collaboration and showcase breakthrough innovations that will define the next era of aviation," Denon said.

He said INACA has 32 members, 21 of which are charters, the majority of which are helicopter operators. The presence of HEXIA 2024 is a reminder of the important role of helicopters in providing transport in both rural and remote areas as well as other transport needs including support for Indonesia's new capital city in Kalimantan.

"Helicopters play an important role in various sectors, including transport, emergency services, and tourism, especially in our geographically diverse and rapidly growing region," Denon said.

HEXIA 2024, he added, can be a catalyst for new partnerships, innovative projects that are more sustainable for the helicopter industry.

HEXIA, which is the largest air transport exhibition in Southeast Asia, was attended by around 30 exhibitors, apart from Indonesia, including from Singapore (Bruhat Project Logistics), Malaysia (Hammock Helicopter & Hammock Robotics), Dubai, UAE (Deinon Insurance Brokers LLC), Australia (Helitak Fire Fighting Equipment Pty Ltd, United Aero Helicopter) and the United States (Southern Cross Aviation, Hillsboro Aero Academy).

Denon said, based on existing data the number of visitors almost reached 21,000 people registered from various circles.

"For Hexia 2024 we held two sessions, namely from the corporate session and invited the general public, so that they could find out knowledge about helicopters in the world. So 26-28 June is for corporate and 29-30 for the general public," Denon explained.

The Hexia 2024 event was attended by officials of the Australian Helicopter Association (AHIA - Australian Helicopter Industry Association), discussing the progress of the cutting-edge helicopter industry and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and enhancing cooperation between Indonesia and Australia.

In addition to Kadin and INACA, a number of institutions involved in HEXIA 2024 include the Ministry of Transportation, the Air Force, the National Disaster Management Agency, Basarnas, AirNav, Angkasa Pura II, and other institutions.
