Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for Trade, Juan Permata Adoe, together with Director of Electronic Commerce and Trade in Services of the Ministry of Trade Rifan Ardianto, Assistant Deputy for Information Technology Development and Business Incubation of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs Christina Agustin, trade administrators and MSME players as well as representatives of related associations discussed the development of e-commerce in Indonesia and the planned revision of the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) 50 of 2020, Thursday (14/9/2023). The revision focuses on improving consumer protection, ease of market access for MSMEs, and digital infrastructure development to strengthen Indonesia's e-commerce ecosystem, while providing the necessary encouragement and protection for Indonesian MSMEs to compete effectively in domestic and international markets. The digital economy in Indonesia continues to show great potential, recorded throughout 2022 the value of electronic commerce transactions (e-commerce) in Indonesia reached IDR 476.3 trillion, an increase of 18.7 per cent compared to last year with a volume of 3.48 million transactions.
