Similar to one's existence in the real world, one's existence in cyberspace also requires a clear identity. If in real life an identity such as KTP is used, then digital identity also basically has a similar concept, namely a file or data that shows complete and legal personal data.
The validity of digital identity is very important in relation to work professionalism. The reason is, duplication or imitation of this identity is easily done by modifying existing data. Even in many cases, theft attempts have also been rampant.
According to McKinsey's research on individual identity, there are approximately 1 billion people around the world who cannot prove their identity - because they do not have access to a legal form of identity, such as a Letter of Residence, or other legal identity documents.
In Indonesia, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, by the end of 2020, there were 1,745,964 people who had not recorded their KTP-el. KTP, as we know, is a legal identity document that must be owned by Indonesian citizens when they are 17 years old. Why is it that all over the world, identity documents have become such an important issue that they have become mandatory?
Identity is a reflection of a person that defines how he or she is different in behavior and attitude. It is a unique characteristic that distinguishes one person from another. No two people have the same identity, even identical twins have different identities. These unique characteristics that each person has become a collection of information that distinguishes and identifies each person.
