Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) through the Investment Cooperation Division with Local Governments held its inaugural meeting at Menara Kadin Indonesia on Monday (02/06/2025). This meeting discussed the management, main tasks and functions (tupoksi), and work programmes of Kadin, especially related to regional investment.
The meeting was also attended by Kadin Indonesia Chairperson Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Deputy Chairperson for Investment, Hilirisation, and Environment of Kadin Indonesia Bobby Gafur Umar, Deputy Chairperson for Investment Cooperation with Local Government of Kadin Indonesia Zulnahar Usman, and other board members.
In his speech, Anindya Novyan Bakrie emphasised the importance of Kadin's role in encouraging investment in the regions.
‘Our economy compared to other countries is relatively good. But that does not mean that our friends in the regions have easy business. They see the daily situation,’ said Anin, his nickname.
Anin also highlighted the need to improve the synergy between Kadin and the local government.
‘It is very important how the local government and Kadin can work together intimately. Of course, by involving friends in the provincial Kadin so that they also move,’ Anin added.
According to Anin, in addition to industry, the trade sector must also be strengthened, both inter-provincially and internationally. Anin believes that the domestic trade sector has great potential to be developed, especially in utilising investment and trade opportunities that have been focused on infrastructure.
‘In the past, a lot of funding from the State Budget (APBN), Regional Budget (APBD) was related to infrastructure. Now this infrastructure is more calm, reasonable. The government wants to capitalise on this by selling, recycle, or others to support trade,’ Anin explained.
Meanwhile, Zulnahar Usman emphasised that Kadin will be an important mediator in facilitating investment in the regions.
‘Kadin Indonesia through the regional investment sector is related to the local government, the whole is to mediate investors who will invest in the regions themselves,’ said Zulnahar.
Zulnahar also said that Kadin fully supports national programmes that are in direct contact with the regions, including the Free Nutritious Meal Programme (MBG).
‘Kadin's target is that at least a thousand kitchens must be built this year,’ said Zulnahar.
Zulnahar added that Kadin will continue to encourage synergy between the central and regional governments in supporting priority sectors included in Kadin's Quick Wins, including MBG, free health checks (PKG), migrant worker programmes, and affordable housing.
‘We will also support the launching of our Quick Wins on 17 August 2025. Kadin regional investment cooperation is very much needed if we are going to work together,’ said Zulnahar.
