Kadin Supports Inkindo in Promoting the Competence of Indonesian Consultants on the Global Stage

Sanur, Bali - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) fully supports and appreciates the Indonesian National Association of Consultants (Inkindo) as the host of the upcoming FIDIC Asia Pacific (FAP) Conference 2025, to be held at The Bali Beach Convention Center, Sanur, Bali, from August 18–20, 2025. The conference is expected to bring together around 500 delegates from 23 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. Kadin views this event as a significant momentum to strengthen the global presence of Indonesian consultants.

As is widely known, FIDIC, or the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, is a global organization representing consulting engineering associations from 98 countries. It has been in existence for over 112 years since its establishment in July 1913.

Peter Frans, Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for Consulting Services, Downstream Industry Research, Investment, Industrial Affairs, and Environmental Affairs, stated that Kadin warmly welcomes and fully supports the 2025 FIDIC Asia Pacific Conference. He emphasized that the conference is a strategic opportunity to enhance the national infrastructure development ecosystem, particularly in addressing the challenges and opportunities brought by technological transformation and the downstreaming of the construction industry.

He noted that the conference will serve as an effective platform to strengthen synergy between the Government of Indonesia, FIDIC, and Inkindo. This collaboration is especially vital amid national efforts to drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth through equitable and competitive infrastructure development.

Aligned with the conference's main theme, “New Technologies Transforming Engineering and Construction Industry,” Peter stated that this is highly relevant to current government policies, where digital transformation and industrial downstreaming are key pillars in attracting long-term investment, improving project efficiency, and generating added value within the domestic supply chain.

“The adoption of technologies such as BIM, AI, and modular construction will play a key role in supporting the productivity and transparency of Indonesia’s construction sector,” Peter said during the FAP Conference 2025 in Sanur, Bali, on Thursday (August 20, 2025).

Peter further affirmed Kadin’s readiness, as a representative of the business sector, to play an active role in supporting the implementation of the conference outcomes, particularly in enhancing the involvement of the national private sector in the government’s priority projects.

“Kadin also encourages the formulation of a roadmap to strengthen the capacity of national consultants through fair technology transfer and global partnerships,” he added.

Widiyanto Saputro, Vice Chairman for Membership at Kadin Indonesia, also highlighted that the FAP Conference 2025 serves as an important milestone to strengthen communication networks among national and regional consulting industries across the Asia-Pacific.

“This event also aims to revitalize the consulting services sector amid global economic challenges, budget efficiency measures, and the government's program refocusing on key strategic sectors such as infrastructure, food security, energy, and digital transformation,” Widiyanto said on Tuesday (August 19, 2025).

He also voiced Kadin’s support for the long-overdue legislative process to strengthen the consulting services industry, which has been delayed for more than 12 years.

Widiyanto reiterated that Kadin Indonesia, as the national umbrella organization for business, will continue to be a strategic partner of the government in national economic development, including in the sustainable growth of the consulting services sector.

Additionally, he expressed full support for the upcoming FIDIC Global Conference, scheduled to be held in September in Cape Town, South Africa.

At the same event, Chairman of the Bali Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I Made Ariandi, also called for greater government support for the local consulting industry, particularly in strategic infrastructure projects that have wide-reaching impacts and can empower local industry players.

He also expressed appreciation for the government’s support of the sector, as demonstrated by the involvement of the Bali Provincial Government in the Gala Dinner and the participation of several officials from the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development at the conference.

Inkindo Chairman Erie Heryadi stated that the conference also featured panel discussions involving Kadin, Inkindo, various ministry representatives, and international delegates.

“As the sole official member of FIDIC in Indonesia, Inkindo is seizing this opportunity to promote Indonesian consultants to become more competitive and professional, while also bringing stakeholders together to discuss strategies for sustainable and innovative development,” Erie said in a statement (August 19, 2025).

According to Erie, Kadin and Inkindo also discussed potential business partnerships during the FAP Conference 2025, preparations for the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) FIDIC event in Paris in October 2025, and strategic issues such as smart infrastructure and sustainable investment.

He added that the FAP Conference 2025 is aligned with the government's Asta Cita development agenda. The goal is for the event to facilitate international cooperation, accelerate infrastructure development, and support the adoption of green technologies and digitalization in the construction sector.

Erie expressed hope that the FAP Conference 2025 will enhance Indonesia’s credibility as a hub for consulting services development in the Asia-Pacific region, while supporting government policies in accelerating infrastructure development and investment in National Strategic Projects (PSN).

In addition to panel discussions, the FAP Conference 2025 also features presentations on technological transformation in the construction sector by delegates from India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, and the Philippines.
