Fully Supporting the MBG Program, Kadin Builds 500 SPPG Units in 3T Regions

Pekanbaru - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) has established 500 Nutritional Service Units (SPPG) across various underdeveloped, remote, and frontier regions (3T areas) as part of one of Kadin’s Quick Wins programs, the Gotong Royong Nutritious Meal Program (MBG).

This was conveyed by Kadin Indonesia’s Deputy Chair for Organizational Affairs, Taufan Eko Nugroho, during the Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov) of Kadin Riau in Pekanbaru, Riau, on Wednesday (November 19, 2025).

Representing Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Taufan emphasized that the establishment of the SPPG units reflects the commitment of Kadin members to support the government’s strategic agenda.

"We have implemented 500 SPPG units in 3T areas. This is concrete proof of Kadin’s commitment to supporting national strategic programs and ensuring access to adequate nutrition for underserved communities," Taufan stated.

He explained that the SPPG units serve as a crucial instrument to ensure the sustainability of the MBG Program, which he said has now reached 40 million servings daily. He believes the initiative has made a tangible impact on improving public nutrition and reducing stunting rates in Indonesia.

Taufan also highlighted that the presence of 500 SPPG units is part of efforts to strengthen the national food supply chain, particularly as demand for eggs, chicken, and milk increases due to the expansion of the MBG Program.

"This MBG initiative has grown significantly. Even Singapore does not provide a program of this scale for all its citizens. Indonesia, on the other hand, delivers seven times more. The positive impact is already visible," he noted.

Kadin Indonesia, Taufan continued, also places strong emphasis on strengthening three key pillars of national economic resilience food, energy, and water. He stressed that these sectors are vital amid rising global uncertainty in 2026.

"We are promoting economic self-sufficiency through food, energy, and water security. These are the three essential foundations for keeping our national economy strong," he explained, adding that Kadin continues to push for industrial downstreaming, MSME transformation, and acceleration of green and circular economic initiatives.

Taufan reiterated Kadin’s commitment to ensuring that all business actors can actively participate in national economic development. Beyond SPPG, other ongoing programs include the construction and renovation of substandard housing (RTLH), the establishment of community health clinics under the gotong royong scheme, and the acceleration of MSME digitalization all aimed at strengthening the grassroots economy.

Specifically for Riau Province, Taufan stated that Kadin Indonesia will evaluate all existing programs and prepare new initiatives for 2026 to align with the national agenda.

"The year 2026 will be globally challenging. Therefore, we will strengthen national apprenticeship advocacy to ensure that the education sector is truly aligned with industry," he said.

Meanwhile, Kadin Riau Chairman Masuri stated that the Rapimprov serves as an important momentum to reinforce organizational cohesion and enhance collaboration with the regional government. He reaffirmed Kadin Riau’s commitment to supporting economic development through strengthened business empowerment.

"Kadin Riau is committed to being the government’s key partner in driving economic growth. Through this Rapimprov, we want to ensure that every policy formulated delivers real impact for business actors, especially MSMEs as the backbone of the regional economy," he said.

Masuri further emphasized that Kadin Riau will continue to play an active role in maintaining a conducive investment climate and encouraging economic innovation.

"We are fully committed to supporting the government’s efforts to advance the economy of Bumi Lancang Kuning," he concluded.
