Kadin Aceh Province and Malaysia’s CSM Distribute 17 Tons of Humanitarian Aid for Flood Victims

Banda Aceh - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Aceh Province facilitated the distribution of 17 tons of humanitarian aid from Malaysia-based non-governmental organization Cancer Survivors Malaysia (CSM) to victims of hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh on Saturday (January 3, 2026).

The aid was distributed to three areas most severely affected by flash floods, namely North Aceh, East Aceh, and Aceh Tamiang.

The assistance included rice, flour, soy sauce, bottled water, instant noodles, dry food, cooking oil, toothbrushes and toothpaste, infant formula, prayer garments (mukena), hijabs, women’s underwear, T-shirts, mats, and medicines.

Chairman of Kadin Aceh Province, Muhammad Iqbal Piyeung, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in disaster response efforts in Aceh.

“Thank you to everyone who has shown concern and support in disaster management in Aceh, both during the emergency response phase and in the upcoming rehabilitation and reconstruction period,” Iqbal said.

He also conveyed special appreciation to Cancer Survivors Malaysia (CSM) and all parties who supported the smooth distribution of the aid.

“In particular, we would like to express our gratitude to CSM Malaysia for helping our brothers and sisters who are currently facing this disaster,” he added.

Meanwhile, Khalid, Coordinator for Aid Distribution at Kadin Aceh Province, explained that during the emergency response period following the flash floods and landslides that struck Aceh in late November 2025, Kadin had distributed assistance to 18 affected regencies and cities.

He noted that the first phase of aid, facilitated by Kadin through the “Kadin Hadir Untuk Sumatra” donation program, was distributed to Pidie and Pidie Jaya regencies, followed by a second phase to East Aceh and several other regions.

“And today, in the third phase together with CSM Malaysia, we are delivering staple food assistance as part of the ongoing emergency response in collaboration with Kadin Indonesia and Kadin Aceh, totaling approximately 17 tons. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our friends at CSM,” he explained.

Furthermore, CSM President Zuraini Kamal stated that the Malaysian people deeply share the sorrow over the disaster that has struck the people of Aceh.

“We, the people of Malaysia, are deeply saddened and extend our condolences. On the basis of humanity and compassion, we are providing a small amount of assistance and donations to help ease the burden of flood victims, especially as the holy month of Ramadan is approaching. Hopefully, what we have delivered can bring some comfort and joy to the victims,” Zuraini said.
