Bandar Lampung – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Lampung Province has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing education through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) themed “2026 University-Level Scholarship Program.” The FGD brought together various stakeholders to formulate more inclusive access to higher education on Tuesday (September 22, 2026).

From a development economics perspective, education is one of the most strategic forms of human capital investment.

The theories developed by Schultz and Becker emphasize that improving the quality of human resources through education directly contributes to productivity and economic growth.

As widely recognized by experts, “knowledge is power and education is an investment in the future.”

The FGD held by Kadin Lampung serves as a tangible manifestation of this principle, demonstrating that the business community not only requires a job-ready workforce but also plays an active role as a partner in preparing the next generation.

Synergy among Kadin, higher education institutions, and the regional government is key. Malahayati University, represented by its Vice Rector III, demonstrated the institution’s commitment to supporting the program.

The Lampung Provincial Government, under the leadership of Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, has also launched the “One Village, One Graduate” program, which provides scholarships for 2,500 outstanding young people from villages across the province.

Appreciation should also be extended to President Prabowo Subianto, who has consistently encouraged broader access to higher education scholarships. The President has called for an increase in the number of scholarship recipients, with priority given to science and technology fields.

Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto has followed up on the directive by reviewing student funding standards across state universities.

At the regional level, Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal has demonstrated a strong commitment through various scholarship programs targeting children of farmers and students from underprivileged families.

Through cross-sector collaboration, Lampung is not only producing university graduates but also building a more equitable foundation for the future. Education is a right, and through strategic partnerships, that right is becoming increasingly accessible.
