Ungaran – Central Java needs to strengthen economic connectivity among its regencies and cities to ensure that development does not take place in isolation.

The Central Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is calling for stronger regional agglomeration, drawing on the collaborative model developed in the Solo Raya region.

Chairman of the Central Java Kadin, Harry Nuryanto Soediro, said the interregional collaboration developed in Solo Raya could serve as a model for other regions across Central Java.

According to Harry, regencies and cities need to strengthen communication and synergy so that the economic potential of each region can extend beyond its respective administrative boundaries.

“We have seen that what we have done together in Solo Raya can create greater economic growth,” Harry said during the Central Java Kadin Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov) at Wujil Resort and Conventions, Ungaran, on Thursday (Sept. 24, 2026).

Harry expressed hope that the model could be expanded to other former residency areas across Central Java. With stronger interregional connectivity, each region would not have to rely solely on its own economic strengths but could complement one another within an integrated ecosystem.

Industrial areas, he added, also need to be connected to production centers, ports, and markets. Such connectivity is considered essential to ensure that economic activity is not disrupted by administrative boundaries between regions.

“All regencies and cities must be interconnected, including in terms of the availability of raw materials in other regencies. Industrial areas must be connected to ports, all production activities, and markets,” he said.

Harry also emphasized the importance of connecting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with large industries operating in industrial areas.

He said regency and city-level Kadin organizations have an important role in driving such collaboration. Regional Kadin organizations are expected to serve as strategic partners to local governments in developing economic sectors while creating activities that can stimulate economic growth.

Meanwhile, Head of the Central Java Industry and Trade Agency (Disperindag), July Emmylia, expressed hope that the 2026 Central Java Kadin Provincial Working Meeting (Rakerprov) would strengthen coordination and synergy between the government and the business community to promote investment, strengthen industry and trade, increase exports, and expand employment opportunities.

According to data from the Central Java Provincial Government, the province’s economy grew by 5.80 percent in the first half of 2026. The manufacturing sector contributed 3.18 percent. Central Java’s exports in July 2026 were also recorded at approximately US$1.40 billion.

She called on Kadin to serve as a strategic government partner, a business facilitator, and a driver of the business community through business matching, business partnerships, mentoring, supply chain strengthening, as well as improved access to markets and investment.

“The Rakerprov must produce concrete, practical, and solution-oriented collaborative programs, with clear follow-up actions and a clear division of roles, while delivering a tangible impact on the community,” she said.
