Kadin Soroti Daya Saing Nasional dan Kepastian Hukum Jelang Rapimnas 2026

Jakarta – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) held a hybrid Daily Executive Board Meeting at Menara Kadin Indonesia in South Jakarta on Monday (October 19, 2026).

During the meeting, Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie said that global economic challenges and competition among countries remained key concerns for Indonesia. According to Anin, as he is commonly known, although the national economy continues to grow positively, improving competitiveness is essential for Indonesia to achieve its long-term development targets.

“What we still lack, in my view, is competitiveness. Our competitiveness is low. After all, everything is a competition, whether with neighboring ASEAN countries or countries in the West and the East,” Anin said.

Anin noted that Indonesia must make the most of the time available to improve public welfare. He cited the target of increasing per capita income from around US$5,000 to US$15,000 over the next 20 years. According to him, this target is achievable, but will require serious efforts to strengthen national competitiveness.

“Over the next 20 years, we will all grow older, while during that same period, we must increase our per capita income from US$5,000 to US$15,000, a threefold increase. It is not impossible, but it will not be easy,” Anin said.

In addition to competitiveness, Anin emphasized the importance of supporting business owners, particularly micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He said the spirit of solidarity and mutual cooperation was one of the foundations underpinning Kadin's efforts to advocate for a revision of the Kadin Law.

“This draft law is intended to foster solidarity, promote mutual cooperation, and help MSMEs move up to the next level,” Anin said.

The meeting also discussed preparations for the 2026 Kadin National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas), scheduled to take place on October 29.

Kadin Indonesia Coordinating Vice Chairman for Organization, Communications, and Regional Empowerment Erwin Aksa said the upcoming Rapimnas would be an important opportunity to consolidate the outcomes of the Provincial Leadership Meetings (Rapimprov) and the National Coordination Meetings (Rakornas) held by the Coordinating Vice Chairmen.

He explained that discussions at the Rapimnas would be organized into eight working groups, each led directly by a respective Coordinating Vice Chairman. The eight working groups are expected to produce comprehensive reports that will subsequently be submitted to the government as strategic recommendations.

“The discussions will cover financial issues, food-related issues, oil and gas, as well as the various issues currently unfolding in Indonesia,” Erwin said.

Beyond the internal Rapimnas agenda, Kadin Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its role as an advocacy body for businesses, both domestic and foreign. Erwin emphasized that legal certainty and regulatory stability were key to improving the investment climate and creating a more conducive business environment.

“What we are discussing is how to maintain legal certainty and how Kadin can advocate for business players, both domestic and foreign, to ensure a more conducive business environment,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of consistent policies to avoid disrupting business activities in Indonesia.

“We hope Kadin can advocate for businesses on legal and licensing issues. Licensing requirements and regulations must not keep changing in ways that disrupt the business environment in Indonesia,” Erwin explained.

The meeting was attended by members of Kadin Indonesia's leadership, including Coordinating Vice Chairman for Food Mulyadi Jayabaya; Coordinating Vice Chairman for Investment, Downstream Industries, Energy, and the Environment Bobby Gafur Umar; Coordinating Vice Chairman for Cooperatives and MSMEs Nurdin Halid; Coordinating Vice Chairman for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development Shinta Widjaja Kamdani; Coordinating Vice Chairman for Law and Human Rights, Facilities, and Infrastructure M. Azis Syamsuddin; and Coordinating Vice Chairman for Export Development Juan Permata Adoe.
