Join the Export Council of Australia (ECA) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) to a roundtable discussion on traceability of food, fibre and critical minerals.
Traceability (both the technology and system) is the ability to track and trace the movement of products through the supply chain, from production to consumption. This can be done by collecting and recording information about the product, such as its identity, location, and movement.
Objectives of the discussion will include:
- exploring the opportunities and challenges of traceability
- understanding the pressures for implementing traceability (such as concerns over origin, safety, halal, environmental impact, and tightening regulations of trade partners and customer expectations)
- being aware of the various technologies that enhance traceability
- facilitating connection among key stakeholders and players in traceability
- identifying needs, and potential collaborative next steps.
The symposium will involve Indonesian and Australian representatives from government and industry. The Australian Embassy (in Jakarta) will be participating, and an Australian delegation will be travelling to Jakarta, including FibreTrace (a technology company), OBE Organic (a beef exporter), CSIRO (Australia's scientific agency), the Australian Food and Grocery Council, and others.
