Antidumping on Ceramic Products

Kadin Indonesia for Associations and Associations held a hearing with Kadin Extraordinary Members (ALB), namely the Indonesian Building Material Supplier Forum (FOSBBI) to discuss antidumping on imports of ceramic tile products from China (5/7/2024).

It is feared that this could hit the local industry with many ceramic tile factories (red body) closing down to switch to white body. The market demand for white body is greater than domestic capacity. However, white body is antidumping (cannot be imported) and must fulfil regulatory requirements, namely with a domestic content rate (TKDN) of 85%.

The large market demand is expected not to trigger any fabrication between the amount of domestic production capacity and the real number of imports in the field.

The asymmetry of information related to the reality of the field with the report has led Kadin and related associations to conduct an investigation and coordinate with the Indonesian Anti Dumping Committee (KADI) and the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU).

The results of the joint investigation and study will become a reference to create advocacy and appropriate rules for the ceramic industry and trade.
