ISF 2025 Officially Concludes, Paving the Way for Concrete Steps in Green Investment and Economy

Jakarta, 11 October 2025 – The Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025 officially concluded its second day with tangible outcomes, including 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), 3 Letters of Intent (LoIs), and total investment commitments valued at IDR 278.33 trillion (approximately USD 17.4 billion). These results mark the forum’s success as a strategic platform that not only fosters dialogue but also drives real cross-sector collaboration to accelerate Indonesia’s green economy transition.

“This IDR 278 trillion commitment is the result of cross-sector synergy that began on the first day of ISF. It's not just about numbers—it reflects a new direction for more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economic development,” said Nurul Ichwan, Deputy for Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming (BKPM), during the closing speech of ISF 2025.

Nurul emphasized that the scale of investment commitments reflects strong confidence in Indonesia's economic transformation agenda. He explained that most of the pledged investments will be gradually realized through projects in renewable energy, sustainable supply chain development, and industrial decarbonization initiatives.

Echoing this, Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy for Basic Infrastructure at the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development and Chair of the ISF 2025 Organizing Committee, stressed that ISF 2025 affirms Indonesia’s leadership in the global sustainable development movement. According to him, the forum serves as more than just a platform for exchanging ideas—it ensures that cross-stakeholder collaboration yields real-world outcomes.

“ISF 2025 has become a platform for collaboration between the government, private sector, and academia. The investment deals and partnerships forged reflect global trust in Indonesia’s sustainability policies and further strengthen the foundation of a resilient and inclusive green economy,” he said.

He also highlighted the level of international engagement, with over 12,500 participants from 61 countries, showcasing strong global interest in Indonesia’s sustainability efforts.

One of the key outcomes highlighted during the forum was the upcoming Waste-to-Energy (WtE) projects across 33 cities in Indonesia, which have already attracted interest from 192 global companies. This momentum underscores the shift from high-level discussions into actionable implementation through strategic partnerships and multi-sector investments.

Meanwhile, Shinta W. Kamdani, Vice Chair for Human Capital, Culture, and Sustainable Development at Kadin Indonesia, reinforced the role of the private sector as the main driver of Indonesia’s green transformation. She noted that green investments not only support economic growth but also create significant opportunities for job creation, supply chain strengthening, and MSME empowerment.

“ISF 2025 has shown that Indonesian businesses are ready to collaborate in driving the green economy. With a conducive policy environment, the sustainable industry transformation will bring real benefits to the wider community,” she stated.

Over the two-day event, which was jointly organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), participants engaged in a wide range of activities—including panel discussions, thematic sessions, high-level dialogues, exhibitions, science corners, and networking meetings.

The Science Corner featured contributions from Indonesia’s leading universities such as Universitas Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and Gadjah Mada University (UGM)—presenting innovations in research and sustainable technology developed by Indonesian youth.
