Karanganyar - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, has named the Solo Raya Great Sale (SRGS) 2025 as a national case study in accelerating progress in Trade, Tourism, and Investment (TTI).
Anindya commonly known as Anin delivered the statement during the closing ceremony of SRGS 2025 held at De Tjolomadoe, Karanganyar, Central Java, on Sunday (August 3, 2025).
According to Anin, the Solo Raya Great Sale has proven that a single city can become the driving force of regional and even national economic growth through cross-sector collaboration and active community engagement.
“I really wanted to witness this event firsthand, because the Solo Raya Great Sale is a model that can be replicated across Indonesia,” said Anin.
He emphasized that the TTI framework used in SRGS aligns perfectly with efforts to strengthen local economies. The program, he added, is in line with Kadin’s mandate to enhance trade and investment, particularly by empowering MSMEs and cooperatives.
“Our task at Kadin is quite complex boosting trade and investment and initiatives like the Solo Raya Great Sale are concrete examples of collaborative work that should inspire others,” Anin added.
Anin revealed that SRGS 2025 recorded nearly IDR 10.7 trillion (approx. USD 700 million) in transactions in just one month. In addition to retail, the tourism sector also made a significant contribution to Solo Raya’s economy. The next frontier, he said, is attracting more investment into the region.
He reaffirmed Kadin’s commitment to supporting regional initiatives that improve MSME competitiveness and boost local economies. Anin also emphasized that MSMEs and cooperatives are legitimate members of Kadin, as mandated by law.
“We fully support this and will position it as a case study on how a province can experience extraordinary growth by amplifying the impact of a single city. From Solo, it could expand to Semarang, Magelang, and serve as a model for other provinces,” Anin stated.
He also highlighted the potential of tourism and maritime areas like Karimun Island, and emphasized the competitive advantages of Central Java particularly in terms of infrastructure connectivity, affordable labor, and a skilled workforce.
“With its competitive wage structure, excellent human resources, and strong infrastructure linking Solo, Semarang, and Yogyakarta, it’s no surprise that Central Java is poised to reap the most benefits from national development,” he added.
Governor: Solo Raya Exemplifies Central Java's Spirit of Mutual Cooperation
Also attending the event, Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi expressed his high appreciation for the success of SRGS 2025, calling it a testament to the spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) among the people of Solo Raya and Central Java.
“Central Java has its own unique character. Anyone who is part of this province should be proud. We embody values like mutual respect, sharing, empathy, and cooperation that’s what defines Central Java,” said Governor Luthfi.
He stressed that inter-regional and inter-provincial collaboration must be the primary approach in regional development.
“There are many who are capable but unwilling, and many who are willing but not capable. But here in Solo Raya, we’ve found people who are both willing and capable. That’s why this small region has achieved something extraordinary,” he added.
