Promoting National Economic Self-Reliance, Kadin and Lemhannas RI Strengthen Collaboration

Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, emphasized the importane of synergy between the business sector and strategic state institutions in strengthening national economic resilience.

This statement was delivered during the 25th National Seminar of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas RI), held in Central Jakarta on Monday (August 11, 2025), with the theme “The Future Direction of Danantara Indonesia for Economic Independence: Sovereign Fund or Agent of Development.”

Following the event, Anindya commonly known as Anin stressed that economic resilience is an integral part of national resilience, and that Kadin is ready to take an active role as a strategic partner of the government.

“Kadin believes our responsibility is to support economic resilience as part of national resilience. We want to be entrepreneurial warriors while also promoting national insight, nationalism, and patriotism,” Anin stated.

He noted that Lemhannas RI possesses extraordinary resources and experience, which should be combined with Kadin’s extensive network that reaches all the way to the regency and municipal levels.

According to Anin, this collaboration would not only strengthen the substance of public policy but also ensure effective implementation on the ground.

He cited several government programs that could be jointly supported by Kadin and Lemhannas RI, such as The development of 30,000 Nutritional Service Units (SPPG) for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) initiative, The establishment of 80,000 "Desa Merah Putih" cooperatives, and The distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) for providing affordable and livable housing.

Anin also referred to President Prabowo Subianto’s direction on the Indonesia Incorporated concept, which emphasizes collective efforts (gotong royong) to drive economic growth.

One form of this concept’s realization is Danantara (Daya Anagata Nusantara), which he said is not just profit-driven, but acts as an agent of change by involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“Danantara is one of its real manifestations. Its focus is not just on increasing profit but also on becoming an agent of change by engaging entrepreneurs who are just starting or are still small-scale. And Kadin, under the law, encompasses all of them,” Anin explained.

In response to skepticism regarding Indonesia’s Q2 2025 economic growth figure of 5.12% as reported by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), Anin urged stakeholders to remain objective.

“If we start doubting official data, we’re just wasting time. It’s better to use that time to seize opportunities,” he asserted.

He pointed to two positive indicators in the data: an increase in capital formation, signaling new factory developments, and a rise in raw material imports.

Anin believes this is a momentum to boost production capacity, particularly in labor-intensive industries such as textiles, garments, and footwear which collectively employ up to five million workers.

“As markets begin to open up, we must not let the opportunity pass us by. Instead, we should fully capitalize on it,” Anin concluded.

Anin was accompanied at the event by Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, Kadin Vice Chairman for National Planning, and Buchari Bachter, Chairman of Kadin West Sumatra Province.
