In Support of Asta Cita, Kadin Launches Coopmura to Strengthen Cooperatives and MSMEs through National Coordination Meeting

Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia) has reaffirmed its commitment to positioning micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives as the backbone of national economic development.

This message was conveyed by Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie during the 2025 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) on Cooperatives and MSMEs, held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

The event coincided with the celebration of National MSME Day and the Awakening of Indonesian Cooperatives, under the theme: "Together with Cooperatives & MSMEs to Create Justice and Prosperity for the People of Indonesia."

“I’m truly pleased because Kadin has always embraced the private sector, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), cooperatives, and MSMEs. However, despite MSMEs and cooperatives making up the majority, they haven’t yet been given the attention they deserve. In our current leadership, we are making sure that they receive full attention,” said Anindya, affectionately known as Anin.

He emphasized the concept of “Indonesia Incorporated”, which calls for synergy between the business sector, government, and society.

“If we want to move up to the next level, then the largest segments—MSMEs and cooperatives—must level up. That way, large corporations will also have more room to collaborate,” Anin asserted.

He also highlighted the role of Danantara, Indonesia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund management body, as a potential catalyst for regional entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and cooperatives.

According to Anin, SOEs under Danantara should not only serve as the largest economic aggregators but also as economic drivers in the regions.

“We hope to generate concrete, data-driven recommendations that can be discussed intellectually with the government. Kadin is also working on a prototype in collaboration with Coopmura, a partner of the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih, so we can assess what’s lacking and what needs improvement,” Anin added.

Meanwhile, Kadin Indonesia’s Coordinating Vice Chairman for Cooperatives and MSMEs, Nurdin Halid, shared that the Rakornas succeeded in formulating 13 strategic recommendations for both the government and the organization internally.

“Among the most crucial: First, we urge the government to build an economic system that allocates greater space for MSMEs and cooperatives, in line with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita vision,” said Nurdin.

“Second, we support the expedited enactment of a National Economy Law to ensure proportional allocation between SOEs, private enterprises, and cooperatives,” he added.

Nurdin also noted that Kadin has established an implementation body, Coopmura (Kooperasi Maju Muda Berkarya), which will act as the driving force behind cooperative programs, including the Koperasi Desa Merah Putih initiative.

“Coopmura is owned collectively by all Kadin members, making it a truly shared platform,” he explained.

During the same occasion, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman called on Kadin Indonesia to actively support national food security through the development of agriculture and plantations.

According to Amran, the government is currently implementing a major initiative to develop strategic plantation commodities such as coconut, cocoa, cashew, sugarcane, nutmeg, coffee, and pepper.

“We’re aiming for comprehensive development of these strategic commodities. That’s why I invite Kadin to be actively involved. This effort could serve as an exponential leap forward for our national plantation sector,” Amran said.

He emphasized that the government has allocated around IDR 8 trillion to support this program.

“This support is not only to boost productivity but also to create jobs for approximately one million workers. The goal is for the added value in the plantation sector to be felt directly by farmers and the wider community,” he concluded.

The opening session of the 2025 National Coordination Meeting on Cooperatives and MSMEs was also attended by key figures from Kadin Indonesia, including Mulyadi Jayabaya, Coordinating Vice Chairman for Food Affairs, Juan Permata Adoe Coordinating Vice Chairman for Export Development, Coordinating Vice Chairman for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development, Rifda Ammarina, Vice Chairwoman for Marketing, Promotion, Innovation, and MSME Product Development, Andi Amar Ma'ruf Sulaiman, Vice Chairman for Institutional Cooperation and Chief Organizer of the Rakornas, Agung Sudjatmoko, Vice Chairman for Cooperatives, Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko, Vice Chairman for Organizational Affairs, Andi Yuslim Patawari, Vice Chairman for the Kalimantan Region, Tatyana Sentani Sutara, Vice Chairwoman for Women's and Children’s Empowerment, Also in attendance were Provincial Kadin Chairpersons from across Indonesia along with their delegations.
