The government has launched the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, which is an ideal picture and target goal that Indonesia must achieve in its 100th year since independence. In 2045, Indonesia is projected to become a developed and prosperous country by becoming the 4th largest economic power in the world based on purchasing power parity (PPP). This is based on the potential that Indonesia has to realise this vision.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, said Indonesia has a lot of potential to escape the middle income trap and become a developed country.
"Indonesia has comparative advantages that other countries do not have such as a large domestic market, productive labour potential, and a high digital literacy population. Therefore, Indonesia must optimise all opportunities and potentials," said Arsjad, on the sidelines of the celebration of the 78th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN), East Kalimantan.
In terms of human resources (HR), Indonesia will enjoy a demographic bonus in 2030 when the number of people of productive age is estimated to reach 68.3% of the total population. In addition, Indonesia also benefits from abundant natural resources and biodiversity, including the world's largest nickel reserves of 21 million tonnes and renewable energy resources of up to 3,600 gigawatts.
Several factors still need to be optimised, among others, to increase the productivity of human resources and ensure an even distribution of expert and skilled talents throughout Indonesia. In addition, digitalisation still needs to be encouraged by increasing public awareness and literacy to achieve greater impact.
Despite the challenges, the spirit to overcome high logistics costs and advance MSMEs to the next level brings hope for economic growth. There is a strong determination to shift the focus from raw material exports to value-added products through industrial downstreaming, while encouraging micro enterprises to upgrade, all aimed at accelerating national economic growth.
Kadin Indonesia Attends the 78th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at IKN
Regarding the presence of Kadin Indonesia at IKN right on the 78th Indonesian Independence Day celebration today together with the Nusantara National Capital Authority (OIKN), Arsjad said that this is a tangible form of our commitment to the future of Indonesia's economic prosperity, by becoming the world's 4th economic power, resilient in the food and health sectors, sustainable in the mission to achieve net zero emissions and inclusive, united and working together in development. "This is our support for the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045. IKN is a symbol of an advanced and modern Indonesia 20 years from now. Of course, it requires the spirit of gotong royong and the identity of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika in economic development well. For this reason, Kadin Indonesia invites the community to realise the shared ideals of Indonesia Emas 2045 through inclusive and sustainable collaboration," Arsjad concluded.
Head of IKN Authority, Bambang Susantono, said the development of IKN as the new national capital will be one of the strategic steps in ensuring Indonesia emerges as a developed country recognised by the world. "We believe that, IKN can be a model of sustainable development that reflects the values of inclusiveness, sustainability and technology-based. With the integration of modern infrastructure, renewable energy and digital technology, IKN can be a key pillar in realising the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045."
