KENDARI — The Kadin Sulawesi Tenggara held its 8th Provincial Conference (Muprov) under the theme “Synergy between Kadin and the Regional Government of Southeast Sulawesi Province in Enhancing Leading Potentials Toward Indonesia Emas 2045,” at the Swiss-Belhotel Kendari Ballroom on Saturday (14/02/2026).
Erwin Aksa, Coordinating Vice Chair for Organization, Communication, and Regional Empowerment (OKP) of Kadin Indonesia, who attended representing Chairman Anindya Bakrie, emphasized the crucial role of regional Kadin chapters in supporting the success of the central government’s strategic programs.
“The most important priority today is ensuring the success of central government programs, particularly the President’s flagship Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program,” Erwin said.
He also appreciated the proactive initiative of Kadin Southeast Sulawesi in participating in the development of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) for the MBG program, aimed at supporting public health while empowering local MSMEs.
Beyond social programs, Erwin highlighted the importance of better management of natural resources in the province, particularly nickel commodities.
“Nickel downstreaming must continue to be strengthened through collaboration between domestic and international businesses so that the economic benefits can be directly felt by the community while maintaining environmental sustainability,” he said.
Meanwhile, Anton Timbang, Chairman of Kadin Southeast Sulawesi, noted that the Provincial Conference is the highest forum within the Kadin organizational structure. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue advocating for downstream utilization of Buton asphalt.
“Buton Asphalt is the largest asphalt resource in Indonesia and has received central government funding of Rp1.49 trillion. We will continue to push for its broader utilization,” Anton stated.
He also called on all stakeholders to work sincerely and collaboratively to advance regional development.
Representing the Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Head of the Provincial Industry and Trade Office Rony Yakob Laute emphasized that the province is endowed with abundant natural resources, providing a strong foundation for growth.
“We must strengthen competitive advantages and downstream industries, accelerate infrastructure development, and ensure that incoming investments create jobs for local communities and improve public welfare. Downstreaming must deliver real value and tangible benefits for the region,” he said.
He expressed hope that Kadin Southeast Sulawesi would continue playing an active role in assisting the regional government in driving economic growth.
Also present at the event were several Kadin Indonesia leaders, including Coordinating Vice Chair for Legal Affairs, Human Rights, and Infrastructure M. Azis Syamsuddin, Vice Chair for Membership Widiyanto Saputro, and Vice Chair for the Kalimantan Region Andi Yuslim Patawari.
