ISF 2025 Forum: Kadin Emphasizes the Importance of Sharia Principles to Support Green Investment in Indonesia

Jakarta, 11 October 2025 - Titi Khoiriah, Head of the Center for Sharia Economic and Financial Development at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), underscored the vital role of Islamic economics in advancing green investment and supporting sustainable development in Indonesia.

Titi emphasized that the scope of sharia economic and financial development in Indonesia extends far beyond financial services, encompassing the application of sharia-based economic principles across multiple sectors.

“The scope of our work at the Center for Sharia Economic and Financial Development is broad—it’s not only about Islamic finance but also about building an economy grounded in sharia values, such as risk-sharing and profit-sharing,” Titi stated after delivering her keynote speech at the High-Level Dialogue titled "Bridging Ethical Capital and Green Investment: The Shariah Path to Sustainable Prosperity", part of the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025 held at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Saturday (11 October 2025).

Titi further explained that with the establishment of the Sharia Economy and Finance Body under Kadin, Islamic financial inclusion in Indonesia is expected to grow significantly. Referring to data from The State of the Global Islamic Economy, Titi highlighted that Indonesia currently ranks third globally in the Islamic economic sector.

“This is both a major opportunity and a challenge for Indonesia,” she noted.

She went on to say that the high-level forum held at ISF 2025 was designed to bring together diverse stakeholders—business leaders, regulators, and community members—to strengthen synergy in advancing Islamic economics while promoting green investment.

“This forum provides an interactive platform for constructive ideas, strategies, and thought leadership to shape a more sustainable Indonesia—one that embraces green economy principles and enhances green investment,” Titi concluded.

Also in attendance at the forum were Nita Yudi Vice Chairwoman for Social Affairs at KADIN Indonesia, Juan Permata Adoe, Vice Chairman for Export Development, and Devi Erna Rachmawati, Vice Chairwoman for Agriculture.
