Kendari - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, underscored the importance of safeguarding food security and maintaining people’s purchasing power amid fluctuating prices of essential goods.
According to Anindya, commonly known as Anin, food availability and affordability are fundamental rights of the people that must be jointly ensured.
“President Prabowo Subianto constantly reminds us that the availability and affordability of food are the rights of the people, which we must collectively guarantee,” Anin said at the Affordable Food Movement event titled "Synergy Between Perum Bulog and KADIN Indonesia" held in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), on Tuesday (August 26, 2025).
On the occasion, Anin expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito Karnavian, whom he praised for consistently encouraging synergy between central and regional governments in maintaining food price stability.
“Last week we visited his (Home Affairs Minister’s) office. In two and a half hours, we came to understand that the Minister acts almost like a government’s management office, one of whose key roles is stabilizing food prices. That’s why we are fully committed to supporting his programs,” Anin remarked.
Anin also extended his gratitude to the Head of the National Food Agency, the Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, and the Chairman of KADIN Southeast Sulawesi along with his leadership team, whom he recognized as key partners in strengthening regional food security.
“This event (Affordable Food Movement) is concrete proof that food security cannot be built in isolation, but must be the result of cross-sector collaboration,” said Anin.
He further emphasized that for KADIN Indonesia, food is a strategic sector. Hence, KADIN is committed to acting as a bridge between business actors and the government to promote more efficient food distribution.
“We have mobilized Kadin members across all provinces to actively support food stability in their respective regions,” he explained.
“Today, Southeast Sulawesi sets an example that food security is not only built through production but also through collaboration. Let us continue working hand-in-hand government, business community, and society to ensure that Indonesia is not only economically strong but also resilient in food security,” Anin concluded.
Also in attendance at the event were Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Head of the National Food Agency Arief Prasetyo, Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Andi Sumangerukka, Chairman of KADIN Southeast Sulawesi Anton Timbang, and several leaders of KADIN Indonesia, including Vice Chairwoman for Social Affairs Nita Yudi, Vice Chairman for Organization Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko, Vice Chairman for Membership Widiyanto Saputro, and Vice Chairman for MSME and Cooperative Legal Affairs Mufti Mubarok.
