The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) today held its 2023 National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) to formulate the organisation's annual work programme and policy advocacy to boost the national economy while actively taking a role as a strategic partner of the government. At the Rapimnas Kadin 2023, Kadin Indonesia carries the theme "Peaceful Election, Growing Economy, Towards Golden Indonesia 2045" which is focused on strengthening the Indonesian economy in entering the year of democratic parties and towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
According to the results of the Rapimnas, the organisation will continue to play an active role in driving national economic growth in 2024, focusing on the four main pillars of the organisation in order to achieve the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045. These four pillars include the health pillar, the national and regional economic development pillar, the entrepreneurship and competence pillar, and the organisational and regulatory strengthening pillar.
In the 2023 Rapimnas, it was also conveyed about the performance of Kadin Indonesia which remained solid throughout 2023. Of the total 191 work programmes carried out, Kadin Indonesia has successfully carried out 163 work programmes or 91% of the total work programmes in 2023. Kadin Indonesia has successfully carried out initiatives such as the Wiki Wirausaha movement, Kadin Impact Award, and support for the construction of the National Capital of the Archipelago (IKN), involving digitalisation, women empowerment, sustainable economy, and national and regional economic synergy.
The Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, revealed that 2023 was a year full of challenges for the Indonesian economy, but the Indonesian economy continued to grow above 5 per cent. This success is inseparable from the collaboration of all stakeholders, from the government to the business world. In the coming year, Kadin Indonesia believes that the Indonesian economy will grow better with Kadin's active role in driving the national economy.
"In 2024, the Indonesian economy is projected to grow in the range of 5.2 to 5.5 per cent. To support this target, Kadin Indonesia, as a strategic partner of the government, will continue to focus on implementing priority programmes and initiatives that have been ongoing throughout 2023 and will continue in 2024," Yukki said.
On the other hand, Vice Chairman for Maritime, Investment and Foreign Affairs, Shinta Widjaja Kamdani, reminded that 2024 is a political year with the election results affecting businesses in boosting business expansion and investment in Indonesia. According to her, in the short term, elections can contribute to economic growth as public consumption tends to increase.
"In the long term, the business world is watching and hoping for political stability for a peaceful election. Kadin is committed to neutrality in the elections. As the main parent organisation of entrepreneurs in Indonesia, Kadin focuses on economic growth and ensuring stable economic conditions," said Shinta.
Vice Chairman for Organisation of Kadin Indonesia, Eka Sastra, revealed that strengthening the organisation and internal regulations will be the board's priority during 2023. Previously, in 2022 Kadin Indonesia had perfected the bylaws and continued which was then ratified into Presidential Decree No. 18/2023. Kadin Indonesia continues to improve organisational regulations (PO), which amount to 23 regulations and revoke and do not improve 3 regulations. In addition, around 70% of the synergy of initiatives between the administrators of Kadin Indonesia and the Regional Kadin occurred throughout Indonesia.
"The synergy of initiatives and work programs of Kadin Indonesia members and Regional Kadin is very important to strengthen the organisation's role in national economic growth. In addition, the Advisory Board of Kadin Indonesia has also supported the Acting Daily Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, to carry out daily duties as Acting Chairman to ensure Kadin Indonesia's strategic role in economic development," said Eka.
The Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, emphasised the readiness of all Kadin administrators to carry out the mandate of the 2023 Rapimnas. Yukki outlined that Kadin will continue to develop innovative programmes that are in line with the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision.
"With collaborative, inclusive, and sustainable work programmes, we are confident that we can bring Indonesia closer to achieving the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision," Yukki concluded.
On this occasion, Yukki appreciated the parties who had supported the 2023 Rapimnas, including Freeport Indonesia, BCA, Adaro, Sinarmas, Royal Golden Eagle, Riau Andalan Pulp & Paper (RAPP), Kapal Api, Unilever, Mayora, Agro Manunggal, Indofood, Vale, and Tiktok.
For information, every year the Executive Board of Kadin Indonesia is mandated to hold a Rapimnas in accordance with Indonesian Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 18 of 2022 concerning Approval of Amendments to the Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD / ART) of Kadin Indonesia.
This Rapimnas is expected to produce strategic thoughts of the business and industrial world that can be synergised with government programmes, so as to create policies and regulations that encourage the business world in encouraging regional and national economic growth, which in particular becomes the foundation for achieving the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
