GKR Mangkubumi Re-Elected to Lead the DIY Provincial Chamber of Commerce for 2025–2030

Yogyakarta - Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Mangkubumi has been re-elected by acclamation as Chairperson of the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for the 2025–2030 period.

The decision was made during the 9th Regional Conference (Musda IX) of Kadin DIY, held at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC) on Saturday (November 8, 2025).

The Musda IX which carried the theme “Strengthening Yogyakarta’s Economic Resilience”—had three main agendas: evaluating the 2020–2025 management’s accountability report, determining the organization’s general program, and electing the new leadership.

In her address, GKR Mangkubumi outlined Kadin DIY’s vision for the upcoming term: “Advancing Inclusive, Sustainable, and Competitive Growth.”

“The foundations we have built in MSME development, human capital, and digitalization must be continued and refined,” GKR Mangkubumi emphasized.

For the 2025–2030 period, she underscored the importance of ensuring the continuity of key programs—namely strengthening MSME capacity as the backbone of the regional economy, improving human resources quality, and accelerating digital transformation.

In addition, she highlighted two new urgent agendas: transitioning toward a green economy and reinforcing the pentahelix synergy model a collaborative framework involving five key elements: government, academia, business, community, and media.

In her accountability report, GKR Mangkubumi reflected on the dynamic journey of Kadin DIY’s 2020–2025 leadership. She recalled that her tenure began amid the severe challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, which delayed the inauguration of the new board until May 5, 2021, and saw Yogyakarta’s economy contract by 2.69 percent in 2020.

“In the face of such adversity, Kadin DIY did not stand still. We swiftly positioned ourselves as a strategic government partner, initiating vaccination programs for MSMEs, cooperatives, and the business community,” she said.

She added that these efforts focused on three strategic pillars: strengthening MSME capacity, enhancing human capital quality, and driving digital transformation.

As a result, GKR Mangkubumi noted, Kadin DIY successfully contributed to the region’s economic recovery. Yogyakarta recorded the highest economic growth rate on Java in 2024, reaching 5.03%, and continued to rise to 5.40% in the first quarter of 2025.

As part of the Musda IX series, Kadin DIY also hosted an Economic Dialogue under the same theme, “Strengthening Yogyakarta’s Economic Resilience.” The session featured several speakers, including Kadin Indonesia’s Vice Chairman for Organization Taufan Eko Nugroho, Head of BPS DIY Herum Fajarwati, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta’s Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Zuly Qodir.

The event was attended by the Governor of the Yogyakarta Special Region, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, and Kadin Indonesia’s Vice Chairman for Membership, Widiyanto Saputro.
