Collaboration to Success the 2024-2029 Government Program, Kadin Indonesia Prepares Proposed Economic Policy Whitepaper

  • The business sector sees the issue of optimizing strategic sectors, strengthening the capacity and competitiveness of national MSMEs, and improving the welfare of the middle class as 3 (three) strategic economic issues that need the attention of the government now and in the next 5 (five) years.
  • Kadin Indonesia is preparing a whitepaper containing proposals/recommendations from the business world to succeed the government's 2024-2029 work program.
  • Referring to the implementation of the Asta Cita and the 17 Priority Programs of the President and Vice President Elect, the proposals/recommendations in Kadin's whitepaper were prepared by involving associations across industrial sectors, business people at the regional level, foreign investors, and academics.

In the view of business actors, there are at least 3 (three) strategic economic issues that need attention now and in the next 5 (five) years. The three issues are the optimization of strategic sectors that can drive growth, strengthening the capacity of national MSMEs, and improving the welfare of the middle class. Indonesia's ability to overcome these three issues will also determine its success in achieving the goal of a Golden Indonesia 2045. In order to achieve this goal, it is important for the government, the business world and all stakeholders in Indonesia to be able to synergize and work together.

In connection with the strategic economic issues faced by the business world and the development of government programs for the next 5 (five) years, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is preparing a whitepaper containing proposals and input from business actors in various sectors and regions, investors and academics. Kadin's proposals and inputs are expected to strengthen and succeed the 2024-2029 development program, as well as encourage the implementation of Asta Cita and 17 priority programs of the elected president and vice president pair, Prabowo Subianto - Gibran Rakabuming Raka. This initiative also confirms Kadin Indonesia's commitment to the government in realizing the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.

“As the parent organization that accommodates the business world and a strategic partner of the government in the economic sector, Kadin Indonesia is ready to work together to succeed the government's 2024-2029 program in order to encourage national economic growth and realize the ideals of the Golden Indonesia 2045, namely as a developed country and out of the middle-income trap,” said Kadin Indonesia Chairman Arsjad Rasjid.

“The white paper that is being prepared by Kadin Indonesia contains proposals and input in the economic field that will be submitted to the government and is expected to be a reference in the preparation of medium-term economic development,” Arsjad further explained.

In addition to accommodating proposals and input from industry associations in various sectors and various regions, Kadin Indonesia will also involve investors, research institutions, universities and academics, community organizations, and other stakeholders in the preparation of the whitepaper through surveys and discussions.

“The preparation of this whitepaper will be carried out in an inclusive and collaborative manner, involving all policy makers. Included in the content of the whitepaper are recommendations for development focus areas that are expected to accelerate economic growth and the realization of the government's priority programs for the next 5 (five) years. In addition, this whitepaper is also sustainable with the Indonesia Emas 2045 Roadmap that Kadin launched last year,” said Arsjad.

As is known to the public, Kadin Indonesia has made the Indonesia Emas 2045 Roadmap which is a guide for the business world as well as complementing the roadmap prepared by the government to achieve the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision.
