As a result of cooperation between Kadin and CCI-TL, PT PETROSIDA GRESIK exports to Timor Leste.
The cooperation visit between Kadin Indonesia, Kadin NTT, Kadin Manggarai Barat, and CCI-TL in July 2023 in Timor Leste has produced positive results. This was marked by the first export of PT PETROSIDA GRESIK to Timor Leste by sending fertiliser, rice seeds, agricultural inputs, and competent experts to oversee rice cultivation in the 2023-2024 season.
The export is a concrete step of cooperation assistance carried out by Kadin to its members, in this case the Kadin Agriculture Hub Sustainable Economy Programme, especially related to food security.
PT PETROSIDA GRESIK, as a partner of the world's largest fertiliser producer, plays an important role in this initiative.
PT PETROSIDA GRESIK's Director of Operations, Achmad Zaid stated that the purpose of this export is to support Timor Leste's food independence and plan for strengthening business cooperation in the future. This is expected to increase the production of premium rice in Timor Leste.
The Chairman of Kadin Manggarai Barat, Charles Angliwarman, expressed his pride in this first export, which was the result of a visit by Kadin Manggarai Barat to Timor Leste in July 2023. The visit involved partners from PT PETROSIDA GRESIK and various related parties, such as agricultural R&D experts and soil observers. Specially selected fertiliser products, agricultural drugs and seeds have been tested for quality in the laboratory. "We are optimistic that this initiative will yield excellent results".
Gratitude was expressed by the Government of Timor Leste, represented by CCI-TL President Sr. Jorge Manuci de Araujo Serrano, and CCI-TL Vice President Rui to Kadin Indonesia, Kadin NTT, and Kadin Manggarai Barat for their support in carrying out this collaboration. This is also a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kadin Indonesia and CCI-TL that was signed during President Ramos Horta's visit to Jakarta and through BAC's Asean Relations during the Asean Summit in Labuan Bajo.
"This first export is not only a business transaction, but also a representation of cooperation between countries and the private sector in supporting food security and sustainable economic growth," said Sr Jorge Manuci de Araujo Serrano.
