Indonesia Hosts ISF, World Sustainability Leaders and Experts to Attend

The Indonesia Sustainability Forum is a form of Indonesia's contribution to the world to answer the challenges faced by developing and developed countries in implementing sustainable and inclusive economic growth, said the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), as organisers of the ISF.

The ISF 2023 will be held on 7-8 September 2023 in Jakarta. The event will be the largest sustainability conference in Indonesia, bringing together around 700 policy makers, experts, and investors from around the world to build partnerships in the field of sustainability in order to accelerate green economic growth.

"The world is racing against time to fulfil the Net Zero commitment and succeed the sustainable development agenda or SDGs. Currently, there are many international agreements and commitments that are expected to encourage the achievement of greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, but we need to move faster and more innovatively," said Deputy for Transportation and Infrastructure of the Coordinating Ministry for Marves, Rachmat Kaimuddin "Of course, global efforts must consider the diverse priorities of the interests of developed and developing countries. Thus, sustainable growth can be felt fairly and equitably by all audiences. The Indonesian government hopes that the ISF can present a new and fair cross-country collaboration platform," he added.

Kadin Indonesia invites all business actors in Indonesia and potential investors to seize sustainability opportunities in the business world which have the potential to become a promising economic sector in the future.

"The sustainability principle initiative is imperative so that we can get out of the middle income trap by achieving economic growth above 6% in order to achieve the Golden Indonesia target in 2045. For this reason, the government and business actors need to work together to ensure the acceleration of inclusive sustainable economic growth. The ISF 2023 event is tangible evidence of the collaboration of businesses and the government to create a sustainable business ecosystem in the green economy transition," said Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Kadin Coordinator for Maritime Affairs, Investment and Foreign Affairs, Shinta Kamdani.

Kadin Indonesia itself has also actively promoted initiatives towards green economy transition and green investment in Indonesia and Southeast Asia through Kadin Net Zero Hub and Carbon Centre of Excellence, Shinta added.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut B. Pandjaitan, is scheduled to open the ISF event entitled "Pursuing Sustainable and Inclusive Growth". Minister Luhut will deliver a keynote speech with the big theme of Growth and Sustainability that will pave the way for Indonesia to achieve the vision of a Golden Indonesia in 2045.

President Joko Widodo is scheduled to attend the ISF 2023 Gala Dinner along with world leaders, business people and international and domestic sustainability experts.

ISF 2023 is also expected to be a place for catalysts in the field of sustainability to meet and exchange ideas.

The event that carries the big theme "Pursuing Sustainable and Inclusive Growth" has also collaborated with several global institutions as Knowledge Partners, including McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and state-owned enterprises such as Pertamina, Perusahaan Listrik Negara, as well as global business players such as Sinarmas and AstraZeneca.

The Knowledge Partners will lead thematic sessions, presenting and facilitating constructive dialogue aimed at presenting solutions to drive decarbonisation efforts, green economy transition, and conservation of environmental ecosystems and biodiversity.
