Kadin Indonesia in collaboration with Kadin DKI Jakarta, and supported by TV One will hold an Economic Dialogue with the Presidential Candidates: Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, on Thursday 11 January 2024. The event, held at the Djakarta Theater, aims to increase the understanding of business actors and the public about the vision and mission as well as the economic programmes of the Indonesian Presidential candidates for 2024-2029 in realising the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045.
Acting Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, said that the Indonesian economy is currently facing a number of challenges both from outside and within the country. The potential for an economic slowdown and an increase in global inflation, as well as climate change, will affect national economic growth. Meanwhile, domestic challenges relate to maintaining political stability and security in the 2024 general election event in order to create a conducive business climate.
"The 2024 election is an important momentum for business, business, and investment in Indonesia. Through the presidential candidates dialogue with Kadin, the business world underlines the importance of implementing a peaceful leadership transition, considering that economic challenges from within and outside the country affect economic growth targets, and even the achievement of the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision. Therefore, the vision, mission, and economic programmes offered by the presidential candidates are expected by the business world to create a conducive climate for business growth and in line with the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045," said Yukki.
Yukki continued, Kadin hopes that the 2024 elections will take place fairly, honestly and peacefully so that national stability is maintained and conducive. Through this presidential candidate dialogue event, Kadin Indonesia also wants to express its commitment as a neutral and inclusive business organisation, where the dialogue involves various industry associations across sectors, member companies, and regional entrepreneurs.
"Kadin is always committed to maintaining neutrality, focusing on economic growth, and long-term political stability. Therefore, Kadin also seeks to involve various industry associations and member companies, as well as the important role of regional entrepreneurs through the Regional Kadin, to ensure a diversity of views and contributions to national economic development."
Chairman of the Governing Council of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Bakrie, also expressed his appreciation regarding the dialogue held by Kadin. "This dialogue shows Kadin's commitment as an organisation that accommodates the Indonesian business world to always present an inclusive dialogue space that represents various sectors and interests in society. This is one proof of Kadin Indonesia's stance in supporting the democratic process and carrying out its duties as a strategic partner of the government in economic growth," said Anindya.
Chairman of Kadin DKI Jakarta, Diana Dewi said the dialogue was designed to bridge the needs of entrepreneurs at the regional level with prospective state leaders. "Kadin encourages businesses to have global competitiveness, especially through development initiatives so that cities or regions in Indonesia can be globally competitive. In this context, Kadin DKI Jakarta is also enthusiastic about providing input and views of the urban business world that can be used by the presidential candidates, where the Regional Kadin in 34 Provinces also contributes and wants to witness firsthand the strategic role of Kadin in the vision and mission of the presidential candidates," said Diana.
On the same occasion, Vice Chairman Coordinator of Kadin Indonesia for the for Human Quality Improvement, Research & Technology & Innovation, Carmelita Hartoto said that the presidential dialogue will also discuss the development of quality human resources as a prerequisite for economic growth towards the Golden Indonesia 2045. "The next leader must prioritise human resource development as an enabler to achieve the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045. Investment in education, skills expertise and inclusiveness is the main foundation for sustainable economic growth, equity and social justice in Indonesia," said Carmelita.
Present at the Press Conference of the Presidential Candidate Dialogue with Kadin: Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045, Secretary of the National Expert Council of Anies Baswedan - Muhaimin Iskandar, Wijayanto Samirin, Chairman of the Prabowo Subianto - Gibran Rakabuming Raka National Campaign Team, Rosan P. Roeslani, and Chairman of the Ganjar Pranowo - Mahfud MD National Winning Team, Arsjad Rasjid also expressed their appreciation for the opportunity Kadin Indonesia had given to the presidential candidates. All three stated that such a dialogue would enrich the knowledge of business players regarding the vision and mission of Indonesia's future leaders.
As is known, Kadin Indonesia has created a roadmap, which serves as a guide for businesses and the government to achieve the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045. The roadmap emphasises four pillars, namely food security and health, welfare, inclusiveness, and sustainability.
