Mataram - The Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) Provincial Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held its 8th Provincial Conference (Musyawarah Provinsi/Muprov) under the theme "Enhancing Kadin's Role and Function for a Prosperous and Globally-Connected NTB" at the Lombok Astoria Hotel in Mataram, NTB, on Monday (September 15, 2025).
Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko, Vice Chairman for Organizational Affairs at Kadin Indonesia, stated that the Muprov is a routine mechanism mandated by Kadin’s statutes (AD/ART) to ensure the organization's operations remain structured and effective.
He emphasized the essential role of provincial Kadin chapters as strategic partners to local governments not merely supporting policies, but also serving a critical function to ensure such policies are effectively tailored to the needs of the business community.
“Kadin must be able to provide constructive feedback. While many policies are made with good intentions, implementation must align with realities on the ground. That’s where we come in as a bridge between the business sector and the government,” said Taufan.
He also expressed hope that continued synergy between Kadin and regional governments would foster a healthy economic climate, reduce poverty, and improve overall public welfare.
This vision, Taufan added, aligns with President Prabowo’s national target of achieving 8% economic growth.
“With strong collaboration, we are confident that NTB can become a significant contributor to inclusive and sustainable national economic growth,” he concluded.
New Kadin NTB Chairman Highlights Strategic Role Amid Economic Challenges
In his inaugural address following his unanimous re-election, Faurani, the newly appointed Chairman of Kadin NTB, expressed gratitude for the continued trust placed in him by the heads of Kadin at the regency and city levels across NTB Province.
Faurani emphasized that Kadin is a strategic organization one that must be smart and agile in taking proactive steps. However, he acknowledged the current economic slowdown, which is being felt in nearly all provinces in Indonesia, and has impacted business morale.
“But this is no reason for entrepreneurs to lose heart. On the contrary, Kadin must be able to find new opportunities that can pave the way for new businesses. Kadin NTB must continue to balance local economic growth with global competitiveness,” Faurani said.
“In line with the theme of Kadin NTB’s 2025 Muprov, our programs must also align with the broader development vision of the NTB provincial government,” he added.
NTB Governor Praises Kadin's Role in Strengthening Regional Investment and Growth
NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal commended the strong collaboration between Kadin NTB and the provincial government.
He emphasized Kadin’s vital role as a strategic bridge connecting the business community with regional bureaucracies.
“Kadin NTB has consistently served as a strategic partner to the provincial government. This solid partnership is fundamental in driving economic growth and opening up new investment opportunities for NTB,” the Governor stated.
The 8th Muprov was also attended by several high-ranking officials from Kadin Indonesia, including Vice Chairman for Membership Affairs Widiyanto Saputro, Regional Coordinator for Bali, NTB, NTT, Maluku, and North Maluku (Balinusamatra) Amirullah Abbas, Regional Kadin Coordinator and Task Force Leader for the Gotong Royong Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program Desi Arianti.
