The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is exploring business and investment opportunities by making various visits and introducing the potential of NTT to three cities in China, namely Suzhou, Jiaxing, and Shanghai.

"This visit is part of a series of trips by Kadin NTT to various countries to expand cooperation and find investors," said the Chairman of Kadin NTT, Bobby Lianto (22/1/2024).

On a three-day visit to China, Bobby Lianto was accompanied by the Indonesia-China Standing Committee of Kadin NTT, Adi Suhartono, and Managing Director of Blucross Medika International, Rudy Surjanto.

After landing in Shanghai, the group headed to the city of Suzhou to meet with owners and investors in medical equipment factories, one of which was Gugomed. Suzhou, known as a centre for the production of high-quality medical devices, gave Bobby Lianto and his team the opportunity to visit the factory and get a first-hand account of the brand's superior products.

China, with its technological advances and competitive prices, is the target for importing some of the products that have been studied by the Chairman of Kadin NTT.

After the visit to Suzhou, the group returned to Shanghai and had meetings with several Chinese investors, including the owner of SHANYING INTERNATIONAL Holdings Co, Ltd Paper, the 3rd largest paper/tissue mill in China. The owner expressed his intention to invest in Indonesia, opening up great opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

Bobby Lianto did not miss the opportunity to introduce the potential of East Nusa Tenggara to Chinese investors. He invited them to visit NTT and invest in Indonesia.

The group continued its journey to Jiaxing City, visiting one of the largest hospital groups, Shin-an International to explore cooperation in technology transfer.

The visit also included meetings with the Indonesian Consulate General in Shanghai, Berlianto Situngkir, and several businessmen and investors in Shanghai. Although the visit this time was only with a team in a quick format, Bobby Lianto made an announcement that within this year, Kadin NTT will organise business trips to China, including to the city of Guangzhou to see product exhibitions.

Bobby Lianto hopes that by bringing NTT entrepreneurs to China, it will make them more open to the international market and establish cooperation that is beneficial to both parties.
