Kadin Launches Gotong Royong MBG Nutrition Service Unit in Lampung, Targets 1,000 Locations and Thousands of Jobs

Bandar Lampung - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, together with the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Nasaruddin Umar, officially inaugurated the Gotong Royong Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG), located in Musi Raya, Rajabasa, Bandar Lampung City, on Friday, September 12, 2025.

In his remarks, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, commonly known as Anin, stated that Kadin is targeting the establishment of 1,000 SPPG units as part of the national goal of 30,000 SPPG MBG units. According to Anin, approximately 300 Gotong Royong SPPG MBG units have already been set up across various regions, and that number continues to grow.

“This shows that Kadin is not just a strategic partner of the government, but also an active part of delivering real solutions for the nation’s future. From the existing 300 units, if each provides 3,500 portions, that means over 1 million nutritious meals have already been served to our children,” said Anin.

He further explained that the SPPG initiative also has a direct impact on employment. It is estimated that around 15,000 workers have been employed through the 300 operating kitchens.

“This is a testament to the potential of public-private partnerships something that can absolutely be realized through Kadin,” he added.

Anin also praised the enthusiasm of the people of Lampung in supporting this program. He noted that the kitchen in Musi Raya is strategically located and has strong potential to become a model for the industrialization of nutrition services not only functioning as an MBG kitchen but also as a future hub for broader development.

“I hope that the quality will always be maintained. This is a very strategic location not just for SPPG, but it can become a model of industrialized nutrition services on a larger scale,” Anin emphasized.

Meanwhile, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar stated that the establishment of this SPPG unit would make a significant contribution to job creation. He described the MBG program, initiated by President Prabowo, as a rahmatan lil'alamin (a mercy to all creation) initiative.

“While several countries are currently facing economic crises that make it difficult for their citizens to meet basic needs, Indonesia is taking a different path—our government is implementing extraordinary programs that are delivering real benefits to the people,” he said.

He added that, in the context of Indonesia’s national journey, this current period represents one of the best opportunities to fully realize Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.

“This is something the Indonesian people should be truly grateful for. The inauguration of the SPPG in Musi Raya, Rajabasa, is expected to become a model that can be replicated across the country, expanding community access to sustainable nutrition services,” he added.

As part of the event, the delegation also visited SDN 03 Rajabasa to observe the distribution of Kadin’s Gotong Royong MBG meals.

Among those present at the inauguration of the SPPG MBG Gotong Royong were Nita Yudi (Vice Chair for Social Affairs, Kadin Indonesia), Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko (Vice Chair for Organizational Affairs, Kadin Indonesia), Teguh Anantawikrama (Vice Chair for MSME Technology Transformation and Digitalization, Kadin Indonesia), Widiyanto Saputro (Vice Chair for Membership, Kadin Indonesia), Ardiansyah (Vice Chair for the Press and Mass Media Industry, Kadin Indonesia), Muhammad Kadafi (Chairman of Kadin, Lampung Province), Romi Junanto Utama (Vice Chair for MSMEs, Kadin Lampung), Buchari Bachter (Chairman of Kadin, West Sumatra Province), Chandra Tirta Wijaya (Acting Head of the MBG Gotong Royong Task Force, Kadin Indonesia), Desi Arianti (Regional Coordinator of the MBG Gotong Royong Task Force, Kadin Indonesia), Pipin Moh.
