Southeast Sulawesi Kadin Targets 320 MBG Kitchens, Anindya Bakrie Praises Industrial-Grade Standards

Kendari - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, accompanied by the Chairman of KADIN Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra), Anton Timbang, visited the Community-Based Free Nutritious Meals Kitchen (Dapur SPPG MBG Gotong Royong Kadin) located in Wua-Wua District, Kendari City, on Wednesday (August 27, 2025).

During the visit, Anindya familiarly known as Anin praised the quality of the MBG kitchen, describing it as already meeting high standards, comparable to those of industrial-scale operations.

According to Anin, the layout and organization of the facility from the meeting room, staff area, nutrition consultation room, to the dry kitchen and rice production room have been well-executed.

“This is one of the best-organized kitchens I’ve seen. I believe it’s already at an industrial level, which is excellent. It’s not just capable of serving 3,500 meals, but even up to 5,000 meals per day. This is a great example of partnership between the government and the business sector that ultimately benefits the community, especially the younger generation,” said Anin.

He added that KADIN continues to push for the expansion of MBG kitchens with a target of reaching 270 operational kitchens by the end of October or November this year.

The program is expected to provide nearly one million healthy meals per day.

“Funds contributed by Kadin members and partners have already exceeded half a trillion rupiah. If we calculate the multiplier effect, it could generate up to IDR 2.5 trillion in community empowerment and regional economic impact. This is a tangible form of KADIN’s support for the government in regional development and in preparing Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045,” Anin explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of KADIN Southeast Sulawesi, Anton Timbang, emphasized that his team has prepared plans to build MBG kitchens across the province.

“We’ve proposed around 65 kitchens, with about 25 already approved. By the end of this month, 5 kitchens will begin operations. Our target is for all of Southeast Sulawesi to reach 320 kitchens. If we can fully operate the initial 65, that would already be a great achievement,” said Anton.

In addition to inspecting the kitchen, Anindya Novyan Bakrie also visited Kingdom Academy, an inclusive school that has benefitted from the MBG Gotong Royong KADIN program.

Anin noted that the MBG initiative not only supports children’s nutrition but also contributes to inclusive education and services for students with special needs.

“All kinds of needs especially for children with special needs are being addressed and supported here. And with the MBG program, everything becomes more complete: they’re healthy, educated, and receive the necessary assistance,” Anin concluded.
