The South Sumatra Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) held Kadin Sumsel Expo 2024 with the theme ‘MSMEs Rise to the Global Market’ at Transmart Mall Radial, Palembang. The exhibition, which will last 5 days from Thursday to Sunday, 11-14 July 2024, aims to promote the potential of the region as well as the products of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Kadin Sumsel Expo 2024 features a series of events, such as trade, industry and MSME exhibitions, corporate talkshow, Kadin Awards, free halal certification, job fair, colouring competition, cosplay competition, tumpeng competition, fashion show competition, line dance competition, as well as band and acoustic.
All these activities are designed to accommodate the various interests and talents of the community, as well as support MSMEs in expanding their market reach.
Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, in his speech virtually congratulated Kadin Sumsel for organising Kadin Expo and Rapimprov.
"Alhamdulillah, as of today, Kadin Sumsel has played an important role in the development of Indonesia. Through this Rapimprov of Kadin Sumsel, I hope to formulate quality programmes that can increase economic growth, especially in South Sumatra,’ said Arsjad.
Chairman of Kadin Sumsel, Affandi Udji stated that this Kadin Expo was the second time it was held as a form of real contribution in post-Covid-19 economic recovery.
"As the Chairman of Kadin Sumsel, I have an interest in being able to boost so that post-Covid-19 economic growth in South Sumatra continues to grow above rational. Kadin Sumsel Expo was attended by MSME players and our partners, which today are around 50 MSMEs and 40 from BUMN, BUMD, and industries in South Sumatra,’ said Affandi Udji (11/7/2024).
Affandi Udji revealed, along with a series of events, Kadin Sumsel will also hold a Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov) with other Regency / City Kadin administrators.
In addition, Kadin Sumsel also invited the public to participate in breaking the MURI record, namely drinking coffee simultaneously in the Musi River on 13 July 2024. "This is to raise the potential of the agricultural community in the field of coffee. We are 24 per cent coffee producer in Indonesia,’ Affandi explained.
Deputy Chairperson of Kadin Indonesia for Trade, Juan Permata Adoe conveyed the importance of increasing exports for South Sumatra. "We need to say that we are currently in a period where the government is promoting increased exports.
It is expected that we will be able to export directly from South Sumatra, which is something extraordinary,’ said Juan.
