The blue economy supply chain is still severely disrupted in terms of very expensive feed.
The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) continues to socialise and educate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to improve competitiveness in order to compete in regional and international markets.
"The plan to go global in its competition, MSMEs must have an understanding of strategic commodities and mastery of technology. This will help promote the trade, with the hope of building a mature trade ecosystem," said Head of Logistics and Supply Chain Agency of Kadin Indonesia, Akbar Djohan in an official statement last week.
He emphasised that there needs to be sustainable opportunities and concrete steps from the government to encourage MSMEs to enter the supply chain industry. If there are no such steps, he continued, it will be difficult for MSMEs to become supply chains.
In the aquaculture or blue economy sector, the use of technology can build a sustainable aquaculture ecosystem. The potential is no less great in improving food security.
Technology adaptation and the use of platforms can provide services from upstream to downstream for fish farmers. Starting from the ease of feed transactions, access to registered and supervised financial institutions, to selling harvested fish profitably.
"In its development, the blue economy supply chain needs to be a common concern and good cooperation among stakeholders," he concluded.
