Otorita Ibu Kota Nusantara (OIKN) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) started a roadshow for public consultation on incentives, as well as socialisation of investment opportunities in IKN for all national and regional entrepreneurs, in the city of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan (16/8/2023).

The public consultation material is related to the contents of Government Regulation Number 12 of 2023 concerning the Granting of Business Licences, Ease of Doing Business, and Investment Facilities for Business Actors in the Capital City of the Archipelago, especially regarding tax and excise incentives and ease of doing business policies.

c. VAT Exemption Policy

2. Import Duty and Import Tax Incentives
a. Import duty exemption policy
b. Import Tax Facility Policy

3. Investment Opportunities and Ease of Doing Business in IKN
a. Investment Sectors and Potential Development Projects
b. Policy on Ease of Ownership/Land Use Rights
c. Residential Facilities for Businesses and Workers
d. Facilities for Expatriate Workers

On that occasion, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Arsjad Rasjid said that the development of East Kalimantan will continue to develop and advance both economically and in other sectors.

"Kadin Kaltim is expected to remain a government partner in assisting human resource development. In addition, it is hoped that MSMEs will become the foundation of the Indonesian economy. IKN not only requires investment, but also needs to develop the quality of human resources, especially developing MSMEs," he said.

Head of IKN Authority Bambang Susantono hopes that Kadin will always intensify this kind of activity so that business people who are interested in investing in IKN know the various facilities and facilities that will be obtained in investing.

"If there are business people who are interested in seeing the IKN development project directly and if the time is 'right', then I will certainly be happy to welcome you to IKN," Bambang said in his official statement.

The public consultation and socialisation of investment opportunities in IKN was held to coincide with the Kadin National Work Meeting and the inauguration of Dayang Donna Faroek as Chairperson of the East Kalimantan Kadin.

OIKN, Kadin, and the Ministry of Finance plan to hold similar activities in Medan, Denpasar, Makassar, and Jakarta.
