A day after inaugurating the Free Nutritious Food (MBG) Task Force Command Post, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) together with Kadin Indonesia Institute and Indonesia Food Security Review (IFSR) officially opened the first training for prospective MBG Programme partners which took place at the Consultation and Assistance Centre of Kadin Indonesia's Gotong Royong MBG Task Force, Tempo Scan Tower, South Jakarta on Wednesday (14/05/2025).

This training is a concrete first step in supporting the Gotong Royong Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) Programme, which targets the fulfilment of nutrition for 80 million Indonesian children.

A total of 21 participants attended the training, consisting of 18 online participants and 3 offline participants, who came from various regions in Indonesia with diverse backgrounds in the food sector and MSMEs.

This activity aims to equip prospective partners with an in-depth understanding of the provision of nutritious food, sustainable food business management, as well as legal aspects and food safety.

The training lasted for five days, presenting speakers from academics, nutrition practitioners, and national food industry players.

Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Novyan Bakrie revealed that the MBG initiative is a tangible form of the spirit of gotong royong in building Indonesia's future generation.

‘Kadin invites all elements of society and businesses, including MSMEs, to be part of this movement,’ he said.

The training materials include:
14 May 2025 - Partnership Process and Financial Administration
15 May 2025 - Personnel Management

Furthermore, Head of Kadin Indonesia's SPPG MBG Task Force, Handojo Selamet Muljadi, emphasised the importance of the regional partners' role in the programme's success.

‘We want to ensure that every partner from various regions, from big cities to remote areas, has high standards and passion in serving safe and sustainable nutritious food,’ he explained.

Similarly, Executive Director of Kadin Indonesia Institute, Mulya Amri, stated that the training also aims to build long-term collaboration.

‘This training is not only a place to transfer technical knowledge, but also a platform to build networks and collaboration between business players in the food sector for the long term,’ he said.

National Nutrition Agency Expert, I Dewa Made Agung Kertha Nugraha, also emphasised the importance of an evidence-based approach in programme implementation.

‘With a structured and real needs-based briefing, we are building a healthy food ecosystem that is not only economically strong, but also socially equitable,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Indonesia Food Security Review representative, Glory Harimas Sihombing, highlighted the urgency of a scientific approach in supporting the success of food interventions.

‘We believe that food interventions must be underpinned by science and data. Through this training, partners are equipped with not only technical skills, but also an important understanding of nutrition, food security, and its impact on future generations,’ he explained.

Furthermore, one of the participants, Imam Zaky Nurhidayat, came directly from Lampung to attend the offline training.

‘I flew from Lampung because I believe this programme is a great opportunity. We in the regions want to be part of the national solution. This is not just training, this is a call to contribute,’ he said.

This activity is expected to create synergy between business actors, the government, and the community to realise a healthier and more independent Indonesia in fulfilling nutrition.
