Kadin Indonesia for Women Empowerment and MÜSİAD Perempuan Indonesia organised a Tea Party to commemorate Kartini Day in Turkuaz, featuring influential female figures (29/4/2024).

On this occasion, Vice Chair of Kadin Indonesia for Women's Empowerment, Tri Hanurita, and Chairperson of MÜSİAD Perempuan Indonesia, Nihal Yazici Aygun, invited Josephine 'Obin' Komara, Batik Maestro, and Damla Büyüktaşkın, Senior Regional Livelihoods & Economics Inclusion Officer for Asia Pacific Countries at the UNHCR, to share their stories on how they overcame challenges and their vision for the future of women's empowerment especially in Indonesia and Turkey. The banquet was also supported by Wolvea by Lita Zen Purba.

"For a woman leader to get the same opportunities as a man, she has to be resilient and make a much bigger effort. The success of a leader must be innovative, diligent, disciplined and hard-working," said Diana Santosa, Chairperson of the Business Partner Standing Commission for Women Empowerment of Kadin Indonesia and Managing Director of Danar Hadi, a batik empire based in Solo.

The talk show featuring Josephine 'Obin' Komara and Damla Büyüktaşkın and hosted by BUMD (PT Pulomas Jaya) Commissioner Ine Hakim Tohir, illustrated their potential and inspiring contributions to women's empowerment. This emphasised the need for advocacy in women's empowerment, particularly as their achievements can be exemplary and promising opportunities for the continuation of Indonesian women's empowerment.

Kadin Indonesia and MÜSİAD Perempuan Indonesia also invited the wives of ambassadors from various countries to Indonesia so that there could be cultural exchange conversations between countries, especially those that can facilitate and raise awareness about the development of women's empowerment. Their presence emphasised the importance of international cooperation in advancing gender equality and women's empowerment globally.

To further strengthen the partnership goals, the event received support from women leaders such as the owner of Turkuaz, Yanti Subianto and Turkish Airlines Regional Sales Operations Manager, Pinar Erdem.
