Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), through its Social Affairs Division, held a National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) under the theme “Cross-Sector Synergy Toward an Inclusive & Sustainable Economy to Achieve Indonesia Incorporated” at the Kadin Indonesia Tower, South Jakarta, on Monday (17/11/2025).
In his opening remarks delivered via video conference, Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie stated that the social sector plays a central role in maintaining harmony between economic growth and sustainability.
“This is the spirit of Indonesia Incorporated there must be no barriers between the government, the business community, and society. We must move in one national orchestration to achieve 8% economic growth and reduce extreme poverty to zero,” Anindya, or Anin as he is warmly known, said.
Anin explained that amid the major transformation currently being pursued by the government including the 8% economic growth target the role of the Deputy Chair for Social Affairs is becoming increasingly vital, particularly as a bridge between national policies and the business sector.
He added that strengthening the social economy is key to equitable development. He also emphasized that the tourism, maritime, and sports sectors represent three significant “engines of growth” with strong multiplier effects. Anin highlighted the vast potential of the halal tourism ecosystem and hajj–umrah services.
“Indonesia’s halal tourism ecosystem and hajj–umrah services hold tremendous potential. The role of the Deputy Chair for Hajj, Umrah, and Halal Tourism is critical in ensuring that standards, certifications, and services are delivered professionally and competitively,” he noted.
Regarding the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) sector, Anin stressed its strategic importance for tourism, investment, and nation branding. Meanwhile, disaster mitigation and social resilience have become priority areas for Kadin’s Social Affairs Division amid rising climate-related risks.
“I invite all Rakornas participants to use this forum as a platform for consolidation, collaboration, and innovation—building an inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable nation toward Indonesia Emas 2045,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Kadin Indonesia Deputy Chair for Social Affairs Nita Yudi stated that Kadin will hold its National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) on 31 November and 2 December. The priority programs and recommendations produced from this Rakornas, she said, will be brought forward to Rapimnas.
“As the government’s strategic partner, Kadin must provide input on the challenges occurring on the ground as well as recommendations that can be conveyed to the government. As partners, we must move together and align our steps to create a better Indonesia,” Nita said.
Furthermore, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Praktikno, in his remarks delivered via video conference, emphasized that economic strength cannot be separated from social resilience. He reminded participants of the crucial lesson learned during the pandemic.
“Behind the pillars of economic and business strength lies the foundation that allows them to stand firm the social foundation. The COVID-19 pandemic taught us that economic resilience depends on social resilience,” he stressed.
Similarly, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPA) Arifatul Choiri Fauzi highlighted the importance of women’s involvement in the country’s development toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
“Women currently make up 49.5% of the population. This shows that women hold a strategic role. Opportunities for Indonesian women must be equal to those of others,” she said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, also known as Babe Haikal, encouraged Kadin to increase business participation in halal certification. He stated that Indonesia’s global position is becoming increasingly prominent.
“Today, we have become the world’s halal center. Many countries are inviting us and asking for information and only from us. I urge Kadin to become more active in formulating a strategy,” he concluded.
