The Provincial Leadership Meeting (Rapimprov) of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) can be a means of coordination, synchronization, as well as strengthening for Kadin NTT.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid in the Rapimprov of Kadin NTT which was held at Harper Kupang hotel, Tuesday (5/21/2024).
The NTT Kadin Rapimprov carries the theme "Revival of the NTT Economy Through Increased Investment and Commodity Downstreaming". The event, which was attended by the chairman of Kadin district / city throughout NTT Province, was also attended by the Head of Bank Indonesia NTT Representative Agus Sistyo Widjajati and Acting Mayor of Kupang Fahrensy Funay.
Arsjad gave appreciation to the NTT Provincial Government and districts/cities that have consistently collaborated with regional business actors through Kadin NTT in running several programs in the economic sector.
"We hope that the collaboration can have a positive impact on sustainable regional economic growth," he explained.
He said, in the first quarter of 2024, Indonesia's economic growth was recorded at 5.11 percent yoy, while NTT's economic growth was recorded at 3.61 percent. Economic growth always needs to be maintained and be aware of the global dynamics and financial market pressures that are being faced.
For example, the dollar exchange rate, which had reached Rp 16,000. The increase in world oil prices also needs to be anticipated, as it can increase the fiscal burden for the government and the risk of increased production costs for entrepreneurs.
"The key to anticipating these dynamics is to manage existing risks. In the future, we must be prepared to increase resilience in facing economic growth both domestically and globally," he explained.
Kadin, he said, is committed to continuing to support and encourage Indonesia's economic stability and growth amidst various challenges, by supporting national and regional entrepreneurs.
Kadin's commitment is realized by supporting various innovative programs and services that are part of the four main pillars of Kadin's work program. The first is health recovery and development of the national health industry, regional and national economic recovery, increasing national and regional competence and improving and strengthening Kadin's internal organization.
Arsjad continued, it is very important to optimize national and regional entrepreneurs by encouraging increased ease of doing business by creating a conductive climate for investment.
"The climate must be done with a collaborative, inclusive and mutual cooperation spirit. Kadin NTT is expected to be a catalyst for improvement and downstreaming in NTT, so that it can ultimately encourage the acceleration of regional economic growth," he explained.
He revealed the various potentials that exist in NTT. For example, mining potential that reaches 11.8 billion US dollars. Seaweed, fisheries and others. This potential is very large if supported by various good resources, which of course can also encourage national food security.
"Kadin NTT can maximize this opportunity to support the regional and national economy," he explained.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Kadin NTT, Bobby Lianto explained that the complete NTT Kadin was organizationally inaugurated and confirmed in each district and city in NTT. Kadin in the region has always been a strategic partner of the government.
Kadin NTT was also successful in helping the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo and communication continues to be carried out intensely, even though NTT consists of islands, coordination meetings continue to be held regularly every three months.
He said the Kadin Award was given to 60 entrepreneurs and Kadin partners. It is hoped that the Kadin NTT Award can be carried out in the coming years.
He also explained the various work results of Kadin NTT, ranging from helping import and export, cooperation with developed countries and others.
According to him, Kadin also plays a role in helping communication to increase transportation services from Kupang City to other areas, both using air transportation to sea transportation.
"NTT MSME products have also penetrated Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and China," he concluded.
