Kadin Indonesia's Deputy Chairperson for Organisation, Law, and Communications Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi said the Task Force to eradicate illegal imports will focus on seven commodities.
‘The task force was formed to focus on the supervision or control of seven commodities, including textiles and textile products (TPT), apparel and apparel accessories, ceramics, electronics, cosmetics, footwear, and other finished textile goods,’ said Yukki (15/7/2024).
The seven commodities also received import relaxation through Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) No. 8 of 2024 concerning Restrictions (Lartas) on Imported Goods.
Yukki said that the formation of the task force does not only need to involve the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) and business actors. According to him, this task force must also involve other ministries and law enforcement officials.
"We also suggest that it must also involve other ministries. Because when it comes to the border, there are Customs and Excise, then it must also involve the Ministry of MSMEs because it will have an impact there, the Ministry of Industry if it involves raw materials. We also want police law enforcement, we have to work together and this is important,’ he explained.
According to Yukki, the formation of the Task Force aims to eradicate illegal imported products in order to protect the domestic industry. Therefore, it is necessary to collaborate with all related elements to law enforcement officials.
"If there is something wrong, legal action should be taken, but it should not be ignored. We have got the numbers, the existing data and the data form from the country of origin are different. That's why we decided on the 7 sectors that I mentioned earlier,’ he concluded.
