The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is optimistic that illegal import activities will continue to decrease since the establishment of the Illegal Import Task Force. Kadin Indonesia noted a decrease in illegal imported goods in the past month, especially in seven commodities.
"As of this month, we see a decrease in illegal importation activities. With the remaining tasks of the import task force that will end at the end of this year, we hope that at least seven industrial commodities that are the focus can recover as soon as possible." said Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for Associations, Wisnu Pettalolo in Jakarta (19/8/2024).
The seven commodities that experienced a decline in illegal imports are textiles and textile products (TPT), apparel, ceramics, electronic devices, beauty products, finished textile goods and footwear.
