World Water Forum Discusses Water Ecosystems at the Global Level

The organisation of the World Water Forum is Indonesia's initiative to discuss water ecosystems at the global level. The appointment of Indonesia as the host of the 10th World Water Forum is the first in the Southeast Asia region. The event will take place in Nusa Dua, Bali Province on 18-25 May 2024.

The World Water Forum discusses the importance of water for people's lives globally and brings together various sectors such as food, energy, environment, health in accordance with the theme raised at the 2024 World Water Forum, namely Water for Shared Prosperity.

"We see that the World Water Forum is Indonesia doing for the world. Indonesia's initiative to take the position as host for a forum that discusses all aspects of water in the world, this is the most important," said Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for Public Works, Public Housing and Infrastructure, Insannul Kamil.

He said, many things will be discussed in the World Water Forum, because water resources are an ecosystem from upstream to downstream.

"So we are not only talking about water availability but also discussing the technology, funding, unravelling the food challenges, and many more," he said.

The World Water Forum will focus on three approaches, namely the Thematic Process, which provides a substantive foundation on water issues or problems.

Then the Regional Process, which provides perspectives on water from all regions, and the Political Process provides a platform for discussions with stakeholders.

Experts will also come and there are 280 sessions. There are also sessions for young people to speak up and play a role in water management.
