Kadin Holds National Coordination Meeting on Cooperatives and MSMEs, Promotes Coopmura and Proposes July 5 as Pancasila Economic Day

Jakarta - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), through its Division for Cooperatives and MSMEs, held a National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) to commemorate National MSME Day and the Awakening of Indonesian Cooperatives.

The event, themed "Together with Cooperatives and MSMEs to Create Justice and Prosperity for the Indonesian People," took place at the Ritz Carlton Mega Kuningan Hotel in Jakarta from August 19 to 21, 2025.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of Kadin Indonesia Anindya Novyan Bakrie emphasized Kadin’s strategic role in the national economy.

Anindya, commonly known as Anin, stated that under Law No. 1 of 1987, Kadin has two main functions: as a partner of the government and as an umbrella organization for the business community.

“When the government succeeds, Indonesia becomes prosperous, self-reliant, and its people thrive. At the same time, Kadin serves as a home for private companies, state-owned enterprises, and also MSMEs and cooperatives,” said Anin on Tuesday evening (August 19, 2025).

Anin also stressed the importance of focusing on the MSME and cooperative sectors, which significantly outnumber large corporations.

He noted that there are around 63 million MSMEs and 130,000 cooperatives, employing up to 28 million workers.

“So it’s only natural that Kadin focuses on cooperatives and MSMEs,” Anin added.

Anin further elaborated on the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program currently being promoted by the government and Kadin. Through the establishment of Nutritional Service Units (SPPG), Kadin has facilitated the development of 270 kitchens, attracting over IDR 500 billion in investment from the business community.

“The economy thrives at the regional level. Our hope is to accelerate this to reach 1,000 kitchens and contribute more significantly to the government’s target of 30,000 SPPG kitchens,” he explained.

In addition, Anin expressed Kadin’s support for the Red and White Village Cooperative initiative and encouraged the growth of the Coopmura movement, aimed at building modern cooperatives with access to markets, digital tools, supply chains, and financing.

“Coopmura is not a competitor to the Red and White Cooperative. On the contrary, it’s a strategic partner to strengthen the people’s cooperative movement. Coopmura brings business community support to modernize cooperatives through digitalization, market access, supply chains, and, of course, financing,” he affirmed.

Meanwhile, Nurdin Halid, Kadin Indonesia's Coordinating Vice Chairman for Cooperatives and MSMEs, emphasized the importance of returning the national economy to the principles of Pancasila and mutual cooperation.

“This is the first time we've had a leader like President Prabowo Subianto, who is implementing a constitutional economy. We even propose that July 5 be designated as Pancasila Economic Day,” Nurdin declared.

Also present to open the Rakornas event was Minister for Cooperatives and MSMEs Maman Abdurahman, who reiterated the government’s full support for synergy with the business sector.

“The role of entrepreneurs under Kadin is vital as partners in boosting economic growth to 8%, as targeted by President Prabowo Subianto. One of the key strategies is optimizing the MSME and cooperative sectors,” Maman concluded.

The opening of the 2025 Rakornas for the Cooperative and MSME Division was attended by top Kadin executives, including Mulyadi Jayabaya (Coordinating Vice Chair for Food), Nita Yudi (Coordinating Vice Chair for Social Affairs), Juan Permata Adoe (Coordinating Vice Chair for Export Development), M. Aziz Syamsuddin (Coordinating Vice Chair for Law, Human Rights, and Infrastructure), Rifda Ammarina (Vice Chair for Marketing, Promotion, Innovation, and MSME Product Development), Andi Amar Ma'ruf Sulaiman (Vice Chair for Institutional Cooperation and Chair of the Rakornas Organizing Committee), Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko (Vice Chair for Organization), Andi Yuslim Patawari (Regional Vice Chair for Kalimantan), as well as provincial Kadin leaders from across Indonesia and their delegations.
