Jakarta – Human resource development and the preparation of future leaders are among President Prabowo Subianto's key priorities in advancing Indonesia. The President reaffirmed this commitment by calling on the business community to take part in these efforts during a briefing for participants of the President's Program for Future Indonesian Leaders (P3MDI) Batch 1 for the 2026 Fiscal Year and participants of the Kadin National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) from across Indonesia. The event was held at the President's private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
Member of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), James Riyadi, said President Prabowo places significant emphasis on human development as the foundation for national progress. He noted that human resource development, particularly in shaping character and leadership capabilities, is a crucial factor in building a great nation.
“Today, business leaders see an extraordinary President. He devotes his heart to education and human development. He explained how no great nation can be separated from human development, particularly the development of leaders with strong character. He shared all of this with extraordinary sincerity and a genuine desire for Indonesia to become a developed nation, respected by all,” James said.
James also commended President Prabowo's efforts to expand opportunities for younger generations, including those from underprivileged communities, to develop through a merit-based system. He viewed P3MDI as a manifestation of the President's vision to prepare Indonesia's future leaders through a structured selection and development process.
“This is his vision. He has a vision and the courage to turn that vision into reality. So, we have no other choice but to support it, because these more than 300 young people already hold bachelor's degrees and have one to two years of work experience. They will undergo intensive training for nine months, supported by close attention and a screening process. Looking at their faces, I am confident that they will become the leaders of the future,” he said.
Echoing James's remarks, Coordinating Vice Chairman of Kadin Indonesia for Food Affairs, Mulyadi Jayabaya, also welcomed President Prabowo's briefing, which he said provided insights into the state's responsibility in advancing the nation. He noted that the government's attention to various development programs, including those related to food, education, and security, was something that deserved collective support.
“Extraordinary. This briefing by President Prabowo, considering my two years of experience, has been remarkable. It has given us insight into the responsibilities of the state. The country must progress, and this is truly extraordinary,” Mulyadi said.
On the occasion, Mulyadi emphasized that the business community has an important role as a government partner in supporting development programs, including P3MDI. He said synergy between the government and the private sector is essential to strengthening national food security while preparing a generation of leaders capable of carrying Indonesia's development forward.
“Let us work together, the private sector and the government, because Kadin is a partner. Let us support this MDI program so that we can achieve national food security. God willing, we will achieve it,” he concluded.
The program represents a long-term investment in nurturing a generation of leaders who are not only intelligent and competent but also possess strong character, the courage to take responsibility, and the determination to make Indonesia a developed, independent, and respected nation on the global stage.
